This video hit the spot for me. I just bought a used 08 F250 Lariat. I’ve got lite rust on the back of the cab. So I need to get to it so I can paint it. But I only need to slide it back a few inches so I can use a roller to smear bed coating on it. Thx.

Sometimes it is easier to drill the center of the bolt head off leaving a free ring.

Use POR-15 to protect the underframe. It works great!

Nice video, I’m changing one on a “04”

The beds are identical from 99- 2010 as you mention, but they are still mostly the same from 2011- 2016 (inner and outer box sides are cosmetically different). A 2016 box will bolt right on that truck. Same part number bed floor/ supports etc. so this video is applicable to those too… These boxes are so hard to find that I researched all the differences so that I could know if I could put a 201- 2016 box on my 09. You can put fender flares on and it would cover the only cosmetic difference ( aside from the longer fuel door). Turns out those boxes aren’t any easier to find. I have a rust free one coming from Alabama and I live in northern Canada. 😢

Sorry really out and maybe you don't recall but what fender flares are on the truck? I can't seem to find any flares without exterior simulated screws/bolts

Good stuff man. I gotta take my 05 bed off to replace the fuel sending unit. Question, what about the goose neck? Anything special you have to do to that to take the bed off?

You should have had a socket wrench I'm put a Long Bar on it for leverage you would have broke those easy

What are the specs on the wheels ?

So how do you take out the rest of said bolt that was seized to all get out into the frame...?

@@melissac365 maybe weld a nut to the top, penetrating oil, and a torch to heat it up. Use the breaker bar to spin the welded nut. I think cutting the head off just exposes easier access? I have never done it but that'd be my guess.

@@bobadler3097 cut heads off of the bolts so that you can remove the bed. With bed removed, the clips holding the nuts for the bed bolts will be exposed. Cut the clip in half so that you can remove the half of the clip that is above the frame. Take a hammer and hit the bed bolts downward and they’ll fall out

If cut the heads off the bolts the bed will NOT come off. The bolt is tapered on top and bed will not get passed that. I had to weld a nut on top of bolt..

Precision Films hit em with a grinder and buy new ones, if you’re removing the bed I’ll bet they will be seized
