Hello from Michigan! Great tips. I like that you use a white-board. I try to hunt 3-4 different stand locations as to not tip off the deer. We have a good Acorn crop this year. Acorns are King, find the Acorns, find the deer.

Hey Mark! This is true, Deer will move through the acorns at some point if it’s their primary food, But they can’t eat Acorns All day every day, they have to mix it up with some type of stem count, Like fresh Buds or greens! That’s why I love finding edges of Mt Laurel to acorn flats, 2 great food sources and great bedding for them!

Nice reminder when things go dead, I find myself falling into the trap of sticking to my favorite stand too long, I try to avoid too much intrusion on my property, the deer get wise fast by me and go nocturnal. But you are correct, if your not seeing anything withn1-2 days, time to move around. I do like to do a physical check of all my stands at the beginning of the hunt to see which ones have to most activity, I try to do this around noon to 2. The deer will change their travel routes from year to year

I don't use trail cameras lm old school look for sign. Used this tactic shot nice 8 pt this past Saturday in Georgia l hunt from the ground in a chair. The best advice I can give you lve learned most good bucks are shot on lst sits on that particular spot . Good Luck all 👍

1st time you sit the spot is often the best! Very little of your scent and your presence hasn’t disturbed the woods yet!
