HUNTING HOGS for FOOD, NOT AS EASY AS I THOUGHT!

Ойын-сауық

We set out at the end of deer season to find pork for the freezer and are forced to go from bow hunting to rifles and finally to thermal gear to get the job done. The end result however, was worth the struggle!

Oh and if you are sighted in for 50 you’ll be an inch or so high at 100 and roughly dead on at 200 with most center fire setups . It’s called a 50/200 zero 👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve had good luck with a 50 yard zero the last couple seasons, mine usually end up back on at 150-175 but still good to 200

@@joshh5853 yep , depends on the caliber & scope height but it makes for a great maximum point blank range

The best way to address your feeder issue is with a 5 gal bucket. Place the bucket under the feeder and lower it until the bucket has all the weight. Now you can remove the lid and fill it up. Works great.

I think I could get behind that backstrap plan! I might try some of the Barnes ttsx out of that rifle, good penetration on those hogs and no lead all over the place. I’ve seen where fmjs didn’t tumble and all you get on the other side is a pencil hole

U should try some 77 grain soft points out of the longer barrel ar, think u will really like the results .

Lower feeder motor into a 5 gal bucket the feeder will stand up, fill it and raise it up. I had the same issue. Kept a camo painted bucket near the tree for this purpose.

We have a 40lb feeder at a bow stand. Just lower to 1ft off the ground and tie rope around tree and it will hold while you fill it up and then pull it up. Thats how I do it by myself.

I had to hang my feeders between 2 trees using a boat crank and pulls because of bears destroying my feeders. Same spinner that was shown on the show. Place a 5 gallon bucket under the barrel and allow the spinner to go inside the bucket as you lower the feeder. This will allow the barrel to stand erect and you can remove the barrel band, lid and fill the barrel. Works every time... BUT keep tension on it just in case.

I had the same problems hanging and filling up a 30 gal drum. I inverted a 5 gal bucket, no lid, and cut a hole the same size as the hole there at the bottom. I then took the feeder off the drum drilled the holes to mount both the feeder and the bucket on the bottom of the drum. Now when you lower the drum it sits on the bucket, on level ground. Don't forget to take off the handle on the bucket.

Lower the feeder on a bucket, and fmj is NOT quickly lethal if not a headshot. Bullet doesnt destabilize enough to tumble til about 150 yards.

When hunting wild hogs the idea to focus o9n is that the hogs meat belongs to you, not to the hogs. Claim all the wild pork you wish.
