Hunting Coyotes With Decoy Dogs! Predator Hunting: SUPPRESSED "The Cal Taylor Project"

Спорт

We purposely align ourselves with people in the industry who do this for a living, because it's our livelihood as well. It's a mutual understanding of work that needs to be done, in many ways, shapes and forms.
Cal Taylor is one of those guys, one of the few who are discreet, efficient, highly trained, and immensely successful at killing.
In this video series, I will be documenting and hunting along side one of the most deadly Coyote Killers in the world.
Watch as using Decoy Dogs allows us to become more successful during the spring and summer months with Coyotes that need killed.

Awesome stuff! Always love watching the coyotes getting lured in by dogs and throwing caution to the wind. My brother mentioned possibly getting a dog for that purpose one day. I will be happy to back him up with a coyote smackdown! What lens are you running on your R5 for this video? I’ve only got the 100-500 dedicated and then some carryover stuff from the EF mount, but I noticed how smooth of a zoom you did at one point there and wondered what lens you preferred. I am still learning a lot about the mirrorless video options, so always good to pick someone’s brain along the way.

Excellent coyote dispatching videos. I know some are complaining of the focus of the video, I believe it may be because there is much more activity going on with using decoy dogs. I cannot believe how close the coyotes came in compared to your normal coyote calling videos. Still, this is some great footage bringing in an absolute legend. I hunt coyote on a small scale and I cannot flim awesomeness while calling, takung aim and such. These guys are just phenomenal in their presentation.

Where are you guys in Texas? A couple years ago in front of my home while walking my toy poodle down the steps of my home, 2 coyotes came out of the bushes like silent assassins and took my little dog leash, collar and all and ran. The partner Coyote charged at me! We are in an urban area around shopping centers and in a housing addition! I’ll never forget calling the wildlife folks mad as hell and basically told them that they must think the coyote is the state dog of Texas! We moved but still in another housing addition hear them howling into the night. I never let our dogs out without going with them now. They can scale a 6’ fence. Good on you for taking out the scourge of the land!

Geez, having dogs in their territory really gets those coyotes amped up. They just run straight in without any of the normal caution. Is there any risk of the dogs getting mange from their contact with the coyotes? Does Cal take any precautions to prevent his dogs from getting the mange from the coyotes or is it not a significant threat?

Love the vids, this was a great hunt. Some constructive criticism. Camera being used leaves a lot to be desired. It has Good color, clarity, and resolution but it’s God awful weak with its focus and the microphone picks up every little bump click, and brush up against it with clicks/pops snaps sounds, so distracting. Sound and lack of focus made this otherwise awesome hunt difficult to watch till the end.

Thanks for the feedback! The first set was a good 15 minutes after sunset so getting the focus in tact with a wide open aperture was a chore in itself, the audio of the first set was all internal on the R5 as well, didn't have time to put the Rode on... A lot of "run and gun" here.
