    Question from someone with 0 knowledge about hunting: With lots of black bears around, how are you so sure you’re safe? Especially when you’re filming with the shot bear. Any safety measures?

    Great question. Bears really are more scared of us than we are of them, but you still want to make sure you take precautions. It is always smart to have a firearm with you when going in and out. If you are on a guided hunt a lot of times the outfitter will take you in and out of the stand if needed.

    Black bear is probably our favourite wild game meat. We also keep the hide.

    Bears are abundant here. They are an important part of our food supply. Those bears fed many families over many years. The license to harvest those bears was issued by the government who pays biologists to monitor and study populations to ensure sustainability
