Definitely a product of it’s time, but I can still appreciate the animation. This was a time where the common mentality was there wasn’t any other way to discipline your children but to hit them, which always confused me because my parents never hit me growing up but they certainly weren’t passive.

Pretty sweet cartoon. Bring's back good memories from my childhood. I always felt sorry for that donkey when he was yelling ,,mommy! mommy!'' when other animals picking on him

Definitely a product of it’s time, but I can still appreciate the animation. Threatening to whack your kid across the face for not eating their dinner is obviously not a good thing, you can’t force food down their throat or hit them until they eat something they don’t want to. I’ve known of people who grew up to have serious issues with food and eating disorders because of that.

I really enjoyed the lesson of discipline in this one.

i liked the part when they dunked him in the well ;p for some reason i just enjoyed watching it xD

Why is nobody talking about the fact that all of the animals in the farm tortured Hunky (the young Donkey) by throwing things at him and drowning him in a well? I know that Hunky was acting like a brat and all but doing this a young kid is terrible. The way Spunky cries out to his mom for help felt realistic to me because he was getting drowned in the well. Parents would be very upset if they see their child getting hurt by others like how Spunky (the mother Donkey) fought against the animals to stop torturing her son.

All of that was results for kid misbehaving and they reported to mother Donkey but she didn't discipline the young donkey ,every behaviour has outcome and everybody should be responsible for that..If you only see as if baby donkey didn't misbehave then if you area parent am doubting your parenting ways.

Actually the baby is called Spunky. Mother is called Hunky. Plus did you see how he reacted despite her saving him?
