How is a diabetic supposed to keep medication as a street homeless person?? That is a horrible way to release people.

Corona virus did not make homelessness. It's been a serious problem for years. There are tent cities full of decent people everywhere. I even saw one in London.

If any of the homeless people in this video (or any homeless person) ever read this:Know that, I was listening to your words. Please find a way to help yourselves the best you can. Look for work everyday. If you cannot afford to live in any city or town, move on! I seriously doubt landlords are going to drop their prices any time soon. The reality is you must find a way. Not insulting you or your situation and I hope you can believe my words. When I look at the state of our union as a country: I feel it is imperative that you do what ever you must do legally to help yourself. I just don't believe there will be a rescue financed enough, broad enough, nor detailed enough from our government to combat the homeless crisis. So please pray for you and help yourselves the best you can. I understand walking around trying to raise money for food. I know that you know working for food is also and option. I hire people from time to time and I am amazed at how little grown-ups do not know about basic construction work. Research a task with your phone so at least you will know a little something. Do not think because one watches a few video that this type of research in anyway is a true substitute for performing that task. One can watch and able bodied person dig with a shovel on video; yet once that shovel is in your hand one realizes that the true science of shovel work is your body and your endurance. Stay in shape best you can. Lots of hard work ahead. You can do this......

People without any drug addictions mental health issues or alcohol issues are forced to live with these people and live in their lifestyle there is no safe place for people with no addictions or problems to go

One must 'wear the shoes' of the homeless, to truly understand . . . comprehend the 'situation at hand.'

I often think about what I'd do ... food's not that big a problem, it's funny, there are huge homeless camps around where I am (business/industrial area with a river running through it, homeless live along the river or in cars along the roads here) and I look in dumpsters for packing/shipping materials and there's a fair amount of food out there even with that many homeless. Maybe they're getting food stamps I dunno. The other day I saw two big pizza crusts. Well, I'd not pick them right out of the trash, but if I heated them up to kill germs they'd actually be OK. But what if I'm homeless and don't have a way to heat them up? I could take a black bag, something dark-colored and put them in it and in the sun, it would be just like an oven, hot enough to re-cook them anyway. I see tons of veggies and even know where there's fairly decent meat thrown out by the trash can full. If you had your cooking game together you could eat really well for free. I've run into people you''d never guess are homeless, who live in offices etc around here. the really visible ones are the ones who are really bad off and even if it's not mental problems or drinking/drugs, they've given up. Being homeless is really living life on hard-mode.

How does the government expect the homeless people to get off the street if they can no longer afford the rents

Looks very bleak for some people whose life has taken a turn for the worse thankfully the fantastic work being done by the members of WATCHMEN OF THE STREETS lookslike it's making a real difference in showing the realities of being in this predicament and the hope and guidance being given will hopefully deliver a better future for everyone. If only everyone offered what they could. The health of society as a whole would improve 10 fold.

I'd have more sympathy if they didn't absolutely trash everywhere they stay. You can find cans and stuff, you can't find bags to throw your stuff away? People might bring you more stuff and help you more/let you stay if you didn't destroy anywhere you stay. I was almost homeless twice. Was taking care of 2 other people, realized they were taking advantage of me and finally stopped working 3 jobs to support people who didn't care about me, beyond what I could pay for them. If you want it bad enough, you can get it. There are TONS of places that will help you get off drugs. Places that hire homeless people to try and get them out of the tents. Use your panhandling money for a hotel room. Most employers will understand, and try and help you. People are not entirely heartless. But too many of these people use their money given to them for drugs, alcohol.

It used to be only the severely mentally ill were homeless. Now it’s average people. When are we going to stop supporting. NATO, WHO and the UN not to mention military bases around the world and give that money to subsidize our own citizens. I am sickened by what this country has become.

The only solution that the governments have to deal with the homelessness is to criminalize them and give them no place to go in public
