@Schwanzus Longus that's funny, since waking up and drinking a beer works every time for me. Maybe you just have a weak stomach? A hang over is dehydration and your blood pressure being high from the alcohol wearing off along with a few other things. Alcohol drops your blood pressure and gives you some fluids which you will piss out soon so some water after that would be a good choice but not needed. Or you can do like my buddy who was in the army did and do an iv every morning lol.

I live in America and have NEVER heard of that hangover cure. The only hangover cure I know of is coffee and greasy food preferably a cheeseburger. 🍔☕

I've generally seen it with booze...usually whiskey. Some of my earliest memories are of my grandfather staggering into the kitchen and awkwardly trying to pour whiskey into a highball glass with a raw egg and slowly struggling to drink it with violently shaking hands. He referred to it as his "medicine". This was my dad's father. My mom's mother had a story she would tell about an instance when they were visiting my dad's parents. She said she was sitting in the living room when my grandfather walked out of the kitchen with his "medicine" in one hand and a pistol in the other and stood in the doorway staring at her with a forlorn expression. She looked at him for a few moments and finally said, "Let me guess. You want me to put that gun to your head and force you to drink that?". She said my grandfather gave a large sigh as he heaved his shoulders and, in a pitiful voice, simply stated, "Yeah...".

The first girl: "I can feel a second heartbeat in my head." I was like yeah we all know that kind of hangover. The guy after that: "I can feel my pulse in my eyeballs"... Thats a higher level of being hungover.

This Yank's fave hangover cure used to be a chocolate Fribble (super thick milkshake from Friendly's) and crispy hash brown patty w/ketchup. Ya get your chocolate, your fried, your tomato, some of the most important food groups for a hangover.

It's a classic hangover cure that is decades old. Never tried it myself (because gross) but I've heard about it. I personally think just eating and drinking water WHILE you drink will prevent the hangover from ever happening in the first place.

Best hangover cure is a Konterbier. Just drink a beer in the morning. Stops digestion of the alcohol and release of the byproducts thereof which cause the nausea.

Tripe soup is the best cmon?! But here is a thing we're not drinking it when we are hamgover but drinking it after half an hour after we finish our drinks. It helps for not to have the worst hangover affects. Cheers

It actually is one of the best ways! After the point where you got drunk as fuck, you just consume less and less hard alcohol. My 16 year old self didn't know that and I had to vomit in order to feel better. My mom (yup, apparently she consumed more alcohol than water on weekends when she was young) then told me when I wanted to get drunk I'd have to drink en masse in order to get to the point of teleportation to random places, but after that only drink less and less hard alcohols. A few weeks ago there was a schools-out party. Before entering the club I drank 0.7l of sour apple (~17%) in a matter of 20 minutes or so, half a liter of wine (~10%) the following 10 minutes and half a bottle of white rum + coke (so maybe ~12%). An hour after arriving (we drank before) I felt the drunkenness fading away, so I continued with some sweet licor 43 + coke, then wine, then beer, then water. Everyone around me was hungover as fuck during the following day (we still had to go to school to get tour school certificate xD) but I was fine. I've done that every time when drinking in excess and besides that first time my "hangovers" usually were nothing more than just not getting enough sleep.

I usually just grab a coffee and go about my day. I do know relatives that do an egg yolk in a half-pint of lager though. Also heard of just a straight raw egg. I prefer to cook the eggs. After a night of hard drinking, I get up early, and I cook half a dozen scrambled eggs, and make a nice hot coffee. That's if I have the time to cook though. If I don't, it's just the coffee.

It's a really old timey thing that no one does anymore. Facts probably got it from cowboy bebop and used it for the gross-out factor. A bloody mary would be more fitting.

Dave's right about the hydrating though. Of course this doesn't apply to falling-down-%^$#-face drunk (which I've never been) where you can't even get the key in the door (the appeal of which has always escaped me)! BUT!!! I will tell you ONE thing, the way NOT to hydrate after you've JUST consumed copious amounts of alcohol. DO NOT DRINK GATORADE RIGHT AFTER!!! It will mix with the alcohol in your stomach, and hit you like a Mack truck, as gatorade makes it absorb in your system faster. That is the closest I ever came to being falling down drunk...more like sitting down, I had to pee like a racehorse every ten minutes for the rest of the night, into the morning! No joke. Stick with water! The next day, mix gatorade with your water.

water usually makes me hungover again. Instead gatorade or coconut water...To cut the story short take 1 aleve 1 tylenol and a liter of water drink it before going to sleep..Next morning you will wake up like you didnt drink at all..

James Johnson lol water flushes the alcohol out of your system, if you drink enough to the point where you urinate several times that day you could feel fine before you go to bed. Oh and nevermind how a big reason hangovers happen is bc you're dehydrated.

Yeah I heard if you just drink a lot of water before you sleep the night you get drunk then you will more than likely be fine when you wake up

In Canada, we just chug a bottle of Gatorade and eat a greasy breakfast sandwich. Works every time.

Pickle juice works wonder thooough. The acid in it will help restore normal ph-balance in your stomach and lessen nausea ;)

Pickle juice is verry sour and acidy. It suposed to calm down your stomach but also it contains lots of elecrolites which alcochol washes off from you system. Another great thing is tomato juice which cotains potasium... Im actually doing both (Half glass of tomato and about quater of glass pickle) when im hangover. Works like a charm :)

Pickle juice is also good when you have a sore throat or cramps, the acidity helps kill bacteria/flush out phlegm in the throat and I assume it's the vinegar or electrolytes that help muscles relax from cramps. Idk why the pickle juice is pink though, maybe they did that weird American food taste test around the same time because that video they did koolaid pickles and those were red.

This is more of a pseudo-medical waffling, made out of some actual scientific facts and a lot of incorrect connections between them. Alcohol's messing up with the brain - the command center of the body, this cause changes in release of different signaling molecules - like hormones, thus causing bunch of different distortion in different metabolic pathways all across the body.

Here in Poland we pickle in just water, salt and some other spices like garlic etc. This color is strange for me too.

The best hangover cure is the Greek one. Force yourself to drink a lot of water until you visit the bathroom at least once. Moreover it helps staying energetic during the day

Yea, they probably take the vinegar not juice from sauerkraut(translation...) or "pickled" cucumber. This method have nothing to do with juice from "olden" cucumber, it is hard to translate. In polish is "ogórek kiszony" but "kiszony" not means pickled in this case, it is juice from cucumber who spend 2-3 weeks in water with spices garlic for example . This water is exactly this "juice". Just cheek i google graphic "sok z kiszonych ogórków" this is juice, and "ogórek kiszony" this what we have in mind when we said pickle". Cheers ;]

I only recently heard this but the pedialight drink for little kids is great for hangovers.

That American hangover cure is from an old movie. nobody ever really used it before, then that movie came out, it became popular, but it doesn't really do anything.. Alcohol is a diuretic, drink some water, you'll be fine.

Nobody uses that as a hangover cure in the states. Most of us just drink Gatoraid, and hit a diner for some breakfast food.

Denn Green III No a hangover cure is supposed to be a meal, or something that refills all the nutrients you lost the night before...not everyone wakes up with an Ill stomach. for the most part I'd say it's headaches and lack of energy.

French coffee with salt is DEFINITELY meant to make you puke ! French policemen used to give this mixture to people in the drunk tank at the police station to sober them up by making them throw up. Thank god they stopped doing this haha

That makes no sense, you have a hangover because the alcohol dehydrated you. If you want to get the alcohol out, don't sleep and then get it out, get it out right when you come home and keep drinking sufficiently (also, I'm not a fan of trying to throw up, I just eat a lot of bread to soak up the alcohol, seems to work for me). And bring a bottle of water to your bed: if you feel to miserable to get out of bed you can still keep drinking water.

EchoSappho yeah, people usually take it when they get home when they're still drunk. Although there are some good hangover cures for the next morning, which aren't meant to make you puke but they're rather comfort food or they're very nutritional. They're meant to make you recover quicker rather than avoiding the hangover. My favourite is a banana-oat-yoghurt smoothie, although a quarter pounder meal also works quite well 😉
