You know the duck season is bad in Virginia and Maryland when you have move out west to shoot ducks. It’s been a very rough duck season along the Atlantic Flyaway this year. Great hunt Thomas!

The birds aren't dumb, they all go to OBX in NC at Pea Island & Pocosin Lakes area...they know where they don't get shot 😉

No kidding, I was hoping to stay on the east coast for all of January but the hunting just seemed to be getting worse everyday. Hopefully it’ll be a good last week of season for the mid-Atlantic though with that weather that came through the last few days! Did you see many fresh birds come down with the front up there?

Finally we have birds, it’s been tough season here in north Texas I hunted the state line below Oklahoma and it was crazy good. I couldn’t shot for the first hour just don’t want them to be smart last week of the season Good job guys

Texoman here as well! Things definitely got way better after the deep freeze. Has been a very mediocre slow majority of the season up until now. We have been seeing big flocks of pintail along with some mallards, and a good number if wigeon. Hope you finish off strong!

Nice, I'm around Wichita Falls, we started out good early then went mega stale. That front provided some much needed good hunts to close out the season.

Another one for the books! Great hunt! I'm going thru withdrawals already and we still have a week to go. Not looking forward too it being over with.

Nice,went hunting with my favorite doc and we encountered froze-up ponds in our first spot,re-launched at another of his spots and pounded out nice limit of gadwalls and green wing tel,next day I made a monster paddle in public land(to the victors go the SPOILS)and pounded out solo limit of gaddies and green wing teal-hoping for re-run tomorrow though torrential doggone rains probably gonna sock me big-time.Then headed up to Lake Village,AR for end of their season!!

Is been very tough here in Virginia but been managing to scratch out a few here and there

Definitely one of the cooler spots I’ve had the chance to hunt this season!

We've been hunting Oklahoma before it got popular. Hopefully it won't become another Arkansas. Plenty of public land and usually if you scout hard enough you'll be the only hunters out there. Great video.

Dude. I know you whiffed on the first woodie, but your shooting is absolutely insane. That hunt is the stuff of dreams, and that shooting is the only place I can shoot like that too.

Hey Thomas just wondering how you go about finding public you want to hunt in other states. Not looking for spots just trying to get a general idea of how you chose an area to hunt? It’s been so rough seasons down here in Louisiana so I’ve been looking to travel like this for some birds.

Mainly I just look for big tracts of public land on OnX that have amble water. I’ll also call public land managers in the state I’m planning to hunt to get reports from them on habitat conditions and bird numbers. I picked this area for this trip because there was a lot of walk-in/kayak opportunities since we didn’t have a boat to hunt big water with

@@HokeOutdoors yeah. But if you compare it to something like the 19-20 season(my friends and I hunted hard all sixty days for like a dozen ducks….and that was better than most people did)it’s been a great season 😂. I’m just saying it could’ve been a lot worse 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lmao. Hunter numbers are rapidly falling, that’s not the issue at all. Harvest numbers are fine, and duck populations are good. Find something else to whine about.

That branch hanging down pissed me off. Your even resting your barrel on it. Break that thing off. I had to stop watching because that branch drove me crazy.
