Was it really him speaking English or it's dubbed? I knew him from Medici series and ever since I look for his other works. I know he's Italian actor but I'm not sure if he's English speaker as well.

Matteo Matari actually did speak English in his role as Pazzi in "Medici: Magnifico" and he did it so well that I, an American, just assumed he was an Englishman! No Italian accent at all - it was surprising to learn that he is in fact Italian (i.e. a native of Italy, not with English as his first language, etc.). Hearing him speak English with a strong Italian accent here in "Hundred to Go" and then his speaking English with no accent at all as Francesco Pazzi ~ that's a lot of progress in just a few years ("Medici" 2 came out in 2019), but not surprising since he's so talented :)

To be honest I've never checked the "Medici" credits to see if Matteo Martari's voice was recast by someone else. But his English and Italian speaking voice sound about identical, and on the show it does appear that he is speaking the English lines if you watch his lips (and don't get me started on his gorgeous lips :)].

@@alexisgorin8129 yes I saw the show's credits and there was a voice recast for him and some of the Italian actors. I think while filming he was speaking English but maybe it wasn't a fluent kind of English. Or maybe some scenes, he used his own voice and other scenes, the voice recast actor did for him. Idk. It's just intriguing to know about the behind the scene stuffs 😅. Either way, he is a talented actor.

@@nurhadirahathilah996 I agree, the behind the scenes details are fascinating, about whose voice was recast and how they do all that. I still don't totally understand how voice recasting works, but maybe like you said, the voice recast actor redoes certain parts if the main actor doesn't quite do it in a fluent-sounding way. Seems like they did a good job finding a voice recast actor whose voice matches Matteo Martari's ~
