The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Humphrey Bogart is my favourite actor. So many fine films under his belt.
Love his voice
When I was a teenager in the 1970's I was obsessed with Bogie, tracked down as many films on the Late Night TV schedules in NY, bought every book or magazine on him I could find. At one point I bought a large poster of Bogie in Casablanca and hung it in my bedroom. When I was out of the room one day my Irish Grandpa, a real jokester, snuck in my room and put a large bandaid over Bogie's nose! I was furious! I couldn't take it off without ripping the poster so I just left it on. When I yelled at Grandpa he said Bogie was always getting into fights so it was more natural to have the bandaid on his nose than to leave it off. 😊
African Queen is such a great movie
Bogart and E. Sullivan legends
My mother used to say that Ed Sullivan looked like Humphrey Bogart
One of the all time Hollywood greats, What a character, great films, great man, and the word is Great! Thank Hollywood for actors like him.

there are very few and only one Bogart.
Love both these guys.
i recently watched Casablanca with my grandparents. Even though it’s 70 years older then me, I have to say it’s quite a nice movie!
Oh Bogie. They don't make 'em like you anymore. You were just right on time for Hollywood's golden age.
Bogart , mon acteur préféré ! Un géant.
The greatest actor of all time..James cagney..Edward g Robinson and George raft.are the only ones you can compare. Also john Garfield..
This is one of three appearances Bogart made on the early Ed Sullivan show (the second of the three).
Love the postings of these Uber early Ed Sullivan Show snippets.
Bogart and Sullivan like like brothers!!🙏❤️.x
Pure Genuine Sincere The heyday of real men
So handsome!
Bogart and Sullivan could be twins. At first I wondered, "why is Bogie wearing a hat indoors? Then I realized - he probably didn't want to mess with putting on a toupee.

@@TheTrashStash No, if you read the book "Bogie and Me" by Verita Thompson, she was his hairdresser and toupee-maker for the 14 years before his death.
Interesting that Ed Sullivan called him Humphrey instead of Bogie
Bogie favored bow ties throughout the 1950’s. It was actually style that many men favored during that period. His hair began to thin as he grew older and for public appearances he often wore a hairpiece. Having just returned from Africa, he apparently hadn’t the means to wear one for this appearance. I love these candid interviews because they are so rare. Little did he know at the time that he would win the Academy Award for best actor for his performance in ‘The African Queen.’
Love bogie great actor
"And what did you eat for dinner Humphrey?" "Well that would be porkchops and applesauce"
Appropriately, one of the many books about Humphrey Bogart is entitled, "Tough, Without a Gun".
Only Bogie could sport a bow-tie and still look macho. Most fellas look like Mickey Mouse.
I wonder why they didn't mention the name of the movie he was making...probably "Deadline USA".
Cool
I didn't know Ed Sullivan interviewed himself
He was my great grandfathers 9th cousin not close at all I know but still cool to me.
They both reminded like they were brothers.
They look alike lol!
