I have the exact same trunk. Mine is very rusted. I have debated what color to paint the decorative top. It was originally a dark red. It was nice to see what it would like. Amazing work!

I know always liked that dark red on a trunk burgundy as it were

That looks great, I just picked one up cheap and want to restore it but wanted to do the embossed copper in two tone but prob not worth it to take it all apart.
