@uThermal, I haven't seen you do this yet, so maybe it'll help: You should drop your ghosts off before going into the main of your opponent, holster the weapons and cloak them. Then pick them up and drop inside the main. That way you can drop ghosts that are already cloaked and it might make it just sneaky enough for your opponents not to notice it.

I just killed a protoss with the rax float ghost into his main on Pride of Altaris, and he said he's so annoyed by this build, he faced it 3 times in the last couple of weeks! Jsyk, your builds are taking over the meta and messing with Protoss heads!

20:52 "proper notifications for multiple nukes" The nuke notification delay is about 1.5 seconds, so if you start calling down 10 nukes within that interval, only 1 notification is heard. Unsure if different announcers have a different delay though, only tested it for one. Actually you can probably check the replay after you multi-nuke some opponents to hear what they heard. You also hear their announcer on replay I think.

There is another issue - the sc2 engine can only track 64 sounds at a time, so in some circumstances (packs of stimmed marines trigger this most easily) you can play many sounds within a short span of time. If you play too many, the oldest sounds instantly cut off. I've verified from video recordings that it's played something like "Nuc.." and then cut off the voice line when somebody nuked me in the middle of a fight which ended up with the nuke landing because i didn't see or hear it. Also - while the gameplay in replays is deterministic, i don't believe that the generated sounds are. In that case you could hear something differently in a replay (or in multiple plays of the same replay) than in the actual game.

I lost it when he made 5 obs and you killed them all easily

I'd love to see a Mass Raven challenge! Also, yes, the snipe sound is the most satisfying sound ever!

The ketroc style ravens planetarys and mine’s is the best I have seen. He has 80 apm and smashed VIBE while he was steaming. Would be great to see uthermal do this build.

An idea for the second phase: you are allowed to build exactly one additional unit type (not counting medevacs, which are always allowed); the unit type is not fixed, you choose it to counter your opponent's build. I personally am looking forward to ghost/thor and ghost/bc combos, those should be epic ^_^

I like that idea, being allowed to make any other unit you want, but you have to pick only one. (It will probably be tanks in most cases though)

About ghost and Terran, Beastyqt once did never attack to GM with ghosts as harass unit, might adapt similar rule, where only ghost are on the offense

Guessing you know already.... But you can cloak the ghosts before you drop them (cloak, load, unload), so he has a harder job figuring out where exactly you dropped them in his base (if you boost over and drop while moving) You can also put the dropped nuking ghosts on "Hold fire", so they don't give away their position by attacking stuff

First nuke in last game is what made him push out. You can't spoil your plans and only damage a forge outta it 😆

I think an awesome strategy would be to do fakeout drops with marines and 1 cloaked ghost, then drop a nuke with the ghost in their base while they are distracted. That could help you with higher level T players, by trashing out units for major ghost plays. Technically it is all still ghost play, and I think it would only constitute as a soft break to your ghost only rule as opposed to allowing Tanks or Cyclones. Otherwise, I think we would all be OKAY with seeing you use Widow mines as a supplemental unit to ghosts because they also cloak and go boom.

Raven has the Cheeto duster too. Maybe try something that doesn't usually work, but can take advantage of it, like reapers.

Raven sounds cool but does it work on high MMR? The turrets are stationary with a low duration and it's torpedo is not so damaging as it was before.

The best strategy is to get cloak before the 5 minute mark, then sit back and watch with the comments just at the edge of vision. When uThermal isn't expecting it, drop down and put thirty or forty characters. By the end of the video, you'll have two or three sentences easily. Hit the like on your way out. Clean.

What's a ebay blocked strat?¿?

Mass Raven combined with mineral only units. So you could do Raven with Marine Hellion on the ground to buffer. Gives you a mineral dump and something to do dps without energy. Raven only seems like you would never destroy buildings and there would be times where you just die or lose all momentum because no energy?

Just watched Nation wars, mass swarm hosts was realy unstopble, but you should play mass reapers against it in my opinion. Sad that you with Harstem didn't beat opponents, but anyway good games guys, prepare in 2x2 more harder and in next tournament you will win all :)

Mass raven + widow mines is a hell of a build.

Raven only defense, you can attack with units as normal, but for defense you can only use auto turrets, and one bunker and tnak per base or something.

I rly enjoy ghost series. What if next patch ghost can snipe everything (example 200/200 upgrate and takes 60 sec)

You still had that first game, you just forgot to EMP the orbitals.. that would have been the play. Instead you put nukes down without EMPing so they were immediately scanned.

@@IcariumGaming he's killed cyclones with vikings before in penguin brothers. And if someone goes mass cyclone you can fly around them, cut off the retreat path and nuke them.

@@GundamReviver I'm not sure, but I think cyclones move faster than vikings, if not the same speed. So moving in front of them to cut them off, doesn't sound plausible to me, unless you are splitting your forces, at which point he can just fight/kite the vikings.

What about Raven being the only unit you can build more than one of?

Hey uThermal, AWESOME content :)! I love the different styles and how well you communicate :) Did you think about hiding the score a bit more maybe :)? Currently it always jumps in front of me and blocks some view of the awesome content. One area would maybe top right below the rest of the UI :)?

Maybe make your bases planetaries (3rd onward) and orbitals in the main as well.

Pure mass ravens may not work against high level Protoss since mass HTs can Feedback them, plus Feedback has 10 range. Maybe an Air only challenge? Viking, Banshee, Raven, Lib, BC only? (Potentially Medivac for Viking drops)

EMP renders stargate units useless because they need energy besides a voidray which can still kill you

Another great video! I recently heard Harstem say that Enhanced Shockwaves was the most broken upgrade in the game. Perhaps it should be a higher priority upgrade against Protoss for this challenge. I'm not sure at what point you get it in the course of the match so maybe you're getting it fairly early. If you do end up going for a raven based challenge, please check out this guy: kzread.info He has been doing essentially the same build for nearly a decade. No scout, turtle terran who goes mass planetary fortress. If he survives the early and mid-game, he ends up with a huge economy which he mostly uses to build ravens. When he's being attacked, he uses the ravens to cripple his opponents economy. He will often send out window mines, helbats and even ghosts depending upon the matchup. It is interesting to watch at times. Maybe you'd find this strategy interesting and of course with your skill level could improve upon his ideas as his APM level often leaves him floating a ton of minerals/gas.

I think enhanced shockwaves goes way down in value the more ghosts you have. I mean, it only really saves some energy on ghosts in most cases because there's nothing stopping you from just using EMP more to make up for it (and that would mostly only be the case in larger battles, not in the small scale battles you see early in the game), but when you have mass ghosts saving energy on your ghosts isn't nearly as valuable because what are you actually going to do with that extra energy - normally it would allow you to get by with using fewer ghosts.. but if you can only build ghosts then that's not really an option. It's also useful when it comes to dealing with other spellcasters (ie. winning the feedback vs. EMP war against high templars by having slightly better range), but you're probably not going to see your opponent using high templar when you're going mass ghosts.
