I'm going to tell you something that made my life sooo much easier ahd happier😂... If your Gale is an evocation wizard...he can cast evocation AOE spells and he won't hurt his teammates even if they are inside the area. (Fireball, for example. You can throw it with Shadow in the area and she won't be hurt). Make sure the NPC's you throw this into are Origin Characters or in green (as Rolan was) if they are in yellow while in the battle, the spell will hurt them, because they are not considered your allies, but neutral.
