This will be a perfect way to introduce tabletop games to my nieces and nephews

Still hoping for an eventual addition in the humblewood series to add additional races. I've made a couple of my own but always nice to see the devs do more too

my humblewood group our DM had us mix and matched racial features of humblewood to more fit specific animals. for a flying squirrel we took jerbeen as a base and replaced one of their features with flight (humblewoods flying fits flying squirrel gliding quite well)

I need a squirrel now.

humblewood suggests using the racial options as general templates and change them to different animals. vulpin have art of foxes but could easily fit a weasel, corvum look like ravens but could easily be a vulture. for a squirrel a jerbeen could fit them as a rodent or mapach have a climbing speed. or in my humblewood group the dm had us mix and match racial traits to fit a specific animal. like a squirrel could be a jerbeen but one of their traits replaced with climbing. I made a flying squirrel artficer whose "wand" was a grenade launcher that shot acorns. he was a jerbeen with the birdfolk's flying, which is more like gliding anyway.

Awesome! just in time for my new campaign I’ve been preparing (My wife wants to play a Hedge based on Mrs Tiggy-Winkle).

Going to buy this sometime this year. Sounds better than a lot of stuff WotC has put out lately.

I really like the Gallus chicken race. It’s all very interesting. I’m new to D&D. I started playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and it has opened the D&D door to me.

We are conditioned to enjoy sets of threes. If we have two groups, birds and mammal, can we get reptiles and amphibians? Frogs and snakes and chameleons would be great

humblewood suggests using the racial options as general templates and change them to different animals. they give a list of examples each statblock might fit, badgers are suggested to be mapach. (page 33) I could also easily see them as hedge for the burrowing speed

Pony Homebrew: Earth pony give sampling from "earth" powers unicorns give any "magic" leaning powers, include the possibility of scroungecraft. pegasus/griffin give sampling from any of the bird races that your player wants. changeling load up with charm powers and change self. keep any stat bonuses or powers to the same scaling and number and it will balance.
