If you watch the show, they explain that the move is used for someone who startles you around a corner. You're supposed to hit them, hop back a step, and then shoot them. It makes sense if the enemy is too close to pull your weapon on.
I love the sound it makes as it hits his face :D
"and if the oponent is still breathing, try using a bullet"
*cornered into a dark alley by a mugger* hey hey, hold on let me get my conveniently hid M16 out
it's enough to severely eff up someone's day
Holy shit looks like I need to carry my M16 wherever I go so I can try this!
I'm gonna try this on my grandma. "Grandma!!? Where's my M16? I need to show you something!!"
Yes, you made that perfectly clear the first time.
i love this show...
Generally the concern that would make the butt stroke more appropriate is over-penetration. The individual may be trying to fight and will not respond to orders to surrender. In urban or close-combat fighting, it's possible that there's something behind the man that you wouldn't want to hit, and if you're this close, the bullet will pass through him and hit what's behind him. This move lets you force a non-compliant target into submission without riskign shooting something behind him.
omg WE NEED more employers like you in the UK xDD
love the sound
its essentially an elbow strike from another marshall art ' muay thai ' however..it uses the ' butt end ' off the gun.
To sigis72, I have a family member in the USMC who has used the M16a4. And this member of my family explained to me that "unless you swing the M16 like a bat, while holding onto only the barrel, I dont think it is possible to break the stock. More than likely the energy will transfer into the target and break the cheak and/or brow."
and here I thought the buttstroke was something that only happened inside a locker room when the coach calls you to stay after.
Now I know how to smack fuck out of an unarmed opponent with the butt of a rifle, I am glad programmes like these reveal such obscure secrets that were previously guarded jealously by a handfull of masters
To GoldDronzer, Im looking at a Army Institute of Research graph right now and it shows the round frag'ing 3.9inches. Also, the round is ment to yaw once it hits its target. So it could hit someone in the shoulder... and perhaps enter that targets heart. And tell me when the last time we have used the 5.56 round on an army that uses body armor?
I'm in the Navy and I still laughed at this.
Nice!
amazing
I know what I want for christmas...
No, the composite of an M16 stock is surprisingly strong. It's a very specific type of plastic.
Now i've got to buy a M-16 to practice this skill.
i'd agree if it was an AK with a wooden stock but more and more assult rifles use collapable cat stocks...
Made my day :D
Wouldn't like to get one of these ;]
This is from the show "Human weapon" on History channel.
This is a military technique. And a pretty brutal one indeed. Even the dummy M-16 rifles do a heck lot of damage.3 kilos of rubber hitting your temple with moderate force is enough to leave you dazed. Usually a the follow up move is a Forward Butt Smash to the nose and your nose will break if the soldier puts enough strength to it. In all this more of self defence at extreme close range or non-lethal subduing of a enemy.
This makes war a lot funnier
This is a good combo start, you can take a second step after the strike instead of moving back and hit the other side of the face with the back of the butt. Then when he's knocked unaware you can take a step back and use the end of the rifle to stab him in the neck/torso with a big step in.
cool i like it
great thank's the best
corporal dunn told me "melee with your knife!" or "just switch to your other weaopn its faster than reloading!"
Man I miss this show...
@DemonKingMMA when did light sabers stop being an option?
@berglovesyou What if it jammed? If you ran outta ammo? If you're going for a stealth kill? etc etc etc?
Bad name, badass move
almost every service rifle predateing the m-16 had a steel buttplate
apearantly using the buttstroke is more affective than just shooting him a couple of rounds XD
Would you mind telling us how it's really done? I'm curious
nice
buttstroke: grab your opponent from behind and u know whats next
i was expecting the dark one to come out of his closet
this move is probably used in the case of indoor close combat‚ when you suddenly find the enemy and your arms are holding a rifle‚ used much like a reflexive move
Yeah, this move seems useful... especially because I'm carrying around an M-16 whereever I go -.-
it has a metal pipe running the length of it, enclosing the buffer spring, that makes it alot stiffer than just plastic alone.
I don't have an M16, but what I do have is an old shoe! I hope it works just as good...
What if you're out of bullets?
Krav Maga is one of the most effective martial arts in the world. The reason is... No rules or morals are implemented. You eliminated your enemy any way possible. You don't stop attacking until your target is dead or incapacitated.
Reading over the comments it seems a lot of people miss the point of learning to do this right. Its to hit someone who is jumping you in CQC range, where you can't shoot them, so they don't kill you. Even a glancing strike to the head can knock someone back, executed correctly you can break their jaw or their neck.
@sigge951 Like I said earlier, Krav was developed for the IDF, for real life and death, war scenarios. If you have a gun, in a situation like this, its life and death. This is a demonstration of what CAN be done in a situation like this. If things move to close quarters REAL FAST, or a gun misfires, this might be the only OR the best course of action.
You cover the Five-point-palm exploding heart technique, right?
heh i thought he was gona stroke his butt with the gun XD
If you run out ammo? or the gun jam?
I prefer to point the small end at the other guy and press the small lever on the bottom. It works really well.
why is this show not on still?!?!?!?!?!?
@psychkick666 Started on army, it's a closed combat option. They did not throw the weapons and go barehands.
I think you mean, "This is what Chuck Norris would do after he picks up a gun."
Old Snake does this move. :D
LMAO!! ur such an awesome boss xD
:D the darker colored 3D guy actually hit the other guy! Lol. But that move would easily put anyone to the ground. They wouldn't be standing up after that for sure.
Wow, you'd say the guy holding the m16 would be defenseless against that unarmed guy...
@Soger91 The M4A1 that the IDF actually use have metal stocks. The M16 is waht the use during basic training only. That Bill doesn't know the difference is another issue :P
nice rifle whip
Not sure I'd try that with those plastic fantastics. Now, gimmie an M1Garand or M14, you got something there. :)
lol ..the stiff metall of the m16 ^^
A good example of the use of this injurious buttstroke was seen in "Rambo: First Blood Part 2"(1985). In this scene, after Rambo gets out of the Huey and puts an M-16 on his person and arms himself, he faces a fat man and confronts him, with the man saying "Glad you made it." Rambo swiftly does the painful payback for the torture Rambo had faced in the camp by crippling the man with the 1st buttstroke with Rambo's own M16 into his groin, stunning him good, but he does not fall down, and gets up rather quickly. Rambo, already being a hard-headed Green Beret soldier with the killer instinct, knowing that this man is hard as a rock, decides to do a second buttstroke blow to finish the man off---right in his L side of his face! When that happened - fight over!
Whew!, now I know how to defend myself against an unarmed man if I have an M16.
And then the guy who got buttstroked pulls out a 9mm and shoots Krav Maga Guy.

...With a broken jaw? He'd be lucky to be walking straight.
this is what chuck norris would do after he picks up a gun without bullets
what if you are out of ammo or need a non-lethal solution
@berglovesyou it's ment to be in CQB or CQC... My point is that when u are this close, you can't straighten up your gun so that the barrel faces your enemy.
True - hard plastic, but internals ARE metallic (spring, etc.)
@Alexx120493 Yeah, actually its fiberglass with the new ones I hear, it work PERFECT with the AK 47's Iron and wood build though
haha, yea... If you're in war, you're not gonna wait for the guy to turn around and wait for him to get ready...
no saben que que canal de direc tv da este programa???
@Makaveli175 I know right! I can't tell you how man unarmed guys have attacked me when I carry my M16. It's like HELLO I have a gun!
@sneakyabcd What if you're out of ammo?
Pro tip: Guns are loud. Sometimes, actual stealth is involved.
i learned this move from the first call of duty game lmfao..
What TV program is this? And what country it is from?
I learned that in basic we used to make fun of the name
@Filipeeno This kind of move is usually used by soldiers in combat if their gun jams.
@clarkcolt45 It's more a state of mind when in a fight than anything else. Krav Maga teaches you to have no qualms about groin strikes/headbutts/eye gouges. Whatever it takes to survive, use it.
What a useful video. I'll just dig out my fucking M16.
@11Bravoshitbag agreed, I also don't know if I'd want to risk the possibility of bending my buffer tube performing this type of strike. A bent buffer tube is definitely gonna take me out of the fight
um one problum the m16 (and im talking about the vietnam m16) the stock is made of fiberglass and would shatter on impact
and even though it is reinforced plastic, the buffer tube that supports it is still a 1 inch thick, 6 inch long steel pipe! (insert phallic joke here!)
@Makaveli175 its for soldiers mainly.... since the IDF use krav maga
Just that this is more powerful.
why can't you elbow or knee from 6 inches away? all you need is a few moves to setup and the buttstroke to finish, for example
hmm..someone should make that. I'd buy it lol
My mother walked in, saw the name of the video as I paused it, she thought I was watching PORN!!!!
@jaychou8787 Close range and of bullets. Plus it can be used to straighten out a prisoner that you don't wanna kill.
well i've been ripped off, i saw the title "butt stoke'' and thought it was something else. damn it.....
@huntwithairguns I'm talking Vietnam war M16. I believe the gun they're using is the new version of it, the M1A4 or something to that effect. Not a gun nut, but from what I've heard from the war vets I've worked with as a volunteer, they said that when they had to use it during the war, it sucked shit.
@MrDragonballzfan if u watch the whole episode they explain that this is used when ur weapon is jammed or out of bullets
@navrenscafidi Yes...its plastic. A HARD, fairly durable plastic, that when used like demonstrated WILL DO alot of damage.
either out of ammo or does not want to cause a commotion to reveal position
@Andre1George Yeah, but malfunctions and jams do happen often.
