Tbh Shudras were just less skilled and less comptent workers in the society Which are not choosen by Birth but by Work and it was not a significant thing up Till 5th century and intervarna marriges were also very common as documented by Fa Hein Chinese Traveller of 3rd century. Something happen in 5th century which started the rigidity In Varna System make it birth based And create The evil of Jati we see today ;this was documented by Haun Tsang Chinese Traveller in 6th.
