Hello friends! Here is another dodie tutorial. This song was originally written for the baritone ukulele, but to make it more accessible, this version is for soprano, concert, and tenor ukulele. I hope that is helpful!!
This past week I've been going through a lot of my old songs that I've never released and am now inspired to finish all of them and post them... lol what would you all think of just a string of videos of original songs? I try to mix up tutorials, covers, and originals usually, but there are a bunch of originals I feel like I want to share. Thoughts?

    Abby, you have no idea how much this helped me. I love dodie but most of her songs are hard to play for a beginner like me. Being able to play this song made me more happy than words can express. I am forever grateful!

    The rhythm is really tough to get a hang of especially if you're singing at the same time, just break it down and watch it over and over again

    Hey there! I've had this sa,e problem for a while, so I'd like to share what has helped me learn this song. The main instrument I play is flute, so I'm very used to reading sheet music. In the piano sheet music, it is set in a 4/4 time signature. Instead of breaking the groups up into threes, try doing it in fours. (* for accented notes) *1 2 3 *4 1 2 3 4 *1 2 3 *4 1 2 3 4 and so on. It takes a while to get used to, but it has done wonders for me learning this song! I hope this helps!

    it might be helpful to play the song a few times beforehand and then to try the beat with the intro of the song

    i need a more explaination in terms of counting and beat, and how many time you repeat Ab until you go into Ab5 for example, its kinda hard for me to keep in time

    Ok so about a little over a week ago i was saying to myself this was too hard for me, today i came back to it (after practicing and getting to know my instrument better) and i got it! Thank you so much! And for those that find it hard dont give up, you’ll get the hang of it like i did :) !

    If you use a capo, can you pluck the first string instead of the third? It sounds the same to me

    Ahhh haha thank you so much!! I'm starting to experiment with the close ups! Also I tried to slow down my explanations more cuz I tried doing some dance tutorials this week and they were so hard... Figured it might be similar for new uke players 😂 Aww those are my bunny and my dragon lol 🐰🐉

    I am so confused is the song in 4/4 and the plucks 1/8 notes or triplets? Or is the song in 3/4 or 6/8 and all notes are 1/8?

    Hello! The song is in 4/4 and it's all eighth notes but the accents in the beginning are placed on beat 1, the + of 2, and beat 4. Then the accents later on are on 1 and 3. Hope that makes sense! :)
