Huma Abedin speaks out

In her first television interview, Huma Abedin talks with "CBS Evening News" anchor Norah O'Donnell about her extraordinary journey - from the pinnacles of power, as a longtime aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton, to the depths of public scandal, as the wife of disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner. Abedin discusses her book, "Both/And: My Life in Many Worlds," and opens up about her fears that Weiner's sexting transgressions may have cost Clinton the presidency.

I met Huma several times in 2007/2008 when I volunteered for the Hillary Clinton campaign and she was always warm, quiet, and dedicated to her boss. When people made up stories about her during the 2016 campaign it made me sick because I knew for a fact that those stories were fake, and if anything she needed support not attacks. She was right saying if she didn't speak others would write her story. The war on women is alive an well, especially if you're Muslim when they label you a terrorist when in fact it's the other way around. I truly wish her the best because she is a good person who's been dealt a terrible hand by her relationship to Anthony Weiner.

I couldn't even imagine living with that type of betrayal. In order to survive and overcome that type of betrayal, you have to have strong faith. Unfortunately and sadly, this story is very common. The only difference is that Huma lived that story out for the entire world to view. I pray she continues to heal, thrive and grow.

Ow. I could never co-parent with a man like Weiner. After all he did and still. Don't know.. it was a good message of strenght until she said she is still let him be in her life. She will regret it again. People never change.

Huma Abedin, a gracious strong young woman who really survived a tragic relationship that could of destroyed her life! I wish her well and lots of success in all of her endeavors. She is truly an exceptional woman. May she find peace and satisfaction with out mentioning her husband name who caused a great deal of embarrassment and hardship?

I just finished Huma’s book tonight. I couldn’t put it down. What a beautiful woman. A fierce ,passionate work ethic, a woman who gave everything to try to save her relationship, a person who endured so much abuse by the paparazzi and the public, her husband ,even some of her coworkers. And a loving mom. I also liked reading about her Muslim faith and her family. Thank you for a great book Huma and telling a fascinating story. Glad you came out on the other side. Hope to see more of you in the future.
