Hukam #14 of 52 - Do not engage in physical relationships before marriage (Anand Kaaraj) [4K]

Sukhdeep Singh goes through Hukam (Command) 14 of 52 given to all Sikhs by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. They are practical instructions that we should incorporate into our lives as they describe the ideal way of life of a Khalsa.
In this video, Sukhdeep Singh explains why we shouldn’t engage in physical relationships before marriage and uses the sakhi (true story) of Ajaamal as an example.
This video playlist was recorded and uploaded weekly throughout 2018.

im enjoying your channel and other Sikh channels , a true religion or faith or peace , there is no pressure on the followers to do anything just guidance , i like that ......rather then the totalitarian regime of other religions or rather cults ... the sikh people are true defenders of the weak and oppressed ..keep it up and keep up showing the world how truly peaceful and kind you strive to be

Waheguru. I remember reading Bhai Rama Singh's autobiography where his soul was taken to hell by jamdoots and punished with fire because he had been in physical relationships before marriage with different women . He describes everything he saw there! He also mentions how after being with different women that his mind was soiled and that he could no longer concentrate doing paath and simran. I recommend people to read it

Thank you for this. This channel and all the Sikhs participating make sure we understand the concept of being distracted to love. Loving God and loving someone are both different things. But the ‘LOVE’ of God(Waheguru)is the most important out of all and will be so if you are finidng someone attractive try listwnjng to these Sikh videos and who knows next you might be a Sikh or inspired soon enough.

To most people, this might sound “old school” and “conservative”, but it’s tried and true, and for good reason. The modern concept of “dating” is not found in Sikhi, this is something a lot of Sikhs, especially western Sikhs struggle with. A Sikh should view anyone who isn’t their wife/husband as a sister/brother, or mother/father depending on their age. When a Sikh is ready for marriage, they should get a third party (parents, friends, respected person, etc) to very rigorously and objectively asses potential partners. Tgis includes the partner, the fanily, and most importantly the type of level that the partner is on, if a Sikh initiated into the Khalsa is getting married, you wouldn’t just set them up with a cultural “Sunday Sikh” or vice versa. The objectives and levels of the couple need to be somewhat aligned, and misalignment can bring them both down. A third party is far more effective at objectively vetting than the individual because the individual can get clouded by their own judgement easily. The proper Sikh way to get married is the way that the Guru himself in a 200+ practical real period operated, and the standard that is set for the Khalsa. This doesn’t mean that it will be a “forced marriage”, and the two parties can then speak to and get to know one another before deciding. Modern day “dating” is just not efficient and practical. It’s also been proven that the more partners you have, the harder it becomes to settle down. Also: Stay away from Shaadi, com

I agree with everything that you wrote here. But............... What's wrong with shaadi, com? I've seen lots of available hot males (posting their phone numbers) looking for slim, beautiful and fair women on their (shaadi, com's) Facebook page. They're promoting love. Haven't you heard of "spread real love not hate"? They just want to spread all their love and they want to get women (similar looking to as being advertised on their website and Facebook page). Shaadi, com promotes love not hate. As the most prominent leftist organizations suggest that if you don't agree with anything you may term it as Hate Speech, I'd like to term the boycott of Shadi, com as hate speech. Just a bit of sarcasm. I really appreciate the work that you're doing here. May Vaheguroo bless you with success.

Here's the thing, we cannot openly criticize other faiths because it is against Sikh principles. However the comparison that you just did cannot be justified since the Quran and the hadis tells different stuff about Muhammad. He wasn't typically a person with his lust controlled. That's all i can say.

What are you talking about? The Guru literally criticizes other faiths all the time, its not against Sikh principles as long as we dont lie or twist the truth.
