Program Note
“Manifesto” is a work for portuguese guitar, nail files, super ball, electronics and loudspeakers in motion.
The discourse is constructed through experimentation, with a previous description - in text - of the gestures to be performed. The sound is created from the interaction between the portuguese guitar, and objects, which then are reproduced in the electronics.
The movement of the eight loudspeakers is programmed to react to the sound. Thus, the sound itself creates a choreography movement, where gestures are the impuls to create a dance.
The skills of the performer should be to understand, at each moment, which gestures to use and how they relate to sound and movement. In this way, the gesture is performed based on a previous experimentation, as well as through the permanent listening of the material and the movement of the loudspeakers.

“Manifesto” é uma peça para guitarra portuguesa, limas de unhas, super ball, eletrónica e altifalantes em movimento.
O discurso é construído através da experimentação, com uma descrição prévia - em texto - dos gestos a interpretar. O som é criado a partir da interação entre a guitarra portuguesa e objectos, que depois é reproduzido na eletrónica.
O movimento dos oito altifalantes está programado para reagir ao som produzido. Assim, o próprio som cria um movimento de coreografia, onde os gestos são o impulso para criar uma dança.
A habilidade do intérprete é entender em cada momento, quais os gestos a utilizar e como estes se relacionam com o som e o movimento. Desta forma, o gesto é realizado com base numa prévia experimentação, bem como através da audição permanente do material e do movimento dos altifalantes.
