I flew plenty in 500D and 500C and in Jet Ranger and other kinds of helicopters, but mainly in the 500D in the remote mountains of New Zealand back in the 1980s, and the 500D is such a wonderful machine, it has allowed many alpine projects to go ahead smoothly and safely all over the world. And 500s have rescued so many people from survival situations in remote spots. Love it.

Thanks for the kind comment. The 500 is long gone and packing a tree trimming saw now. Seems a shame to me. The owner did a very meticulous ground up resto/mod on that bird. He has an Enstrom 28c %95 restored, but got sidetracked building carts. He has electric and gas models for sale.

Never a chore with a 500. Nice job flying on and off that trolley. I'm looking for a fixed wing sports tourer at the moment, and have spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at 500s instead. It makes no financial sense, but the heart wants what the heart wants.I have to own, share or have regular access to one. Soon. It's as simple as that.

There's no such thing as a free lunch, I guess, but I still want one of these even if it does mean that I have to wear the standard issue white socks and sandles to fly one. That much cool helicopter makes an uncool counterpoint mandatory to balance things out, I s'pose, and a big pair of white-socked feet in the nose windows would do it for sure. It's a phenomenon I've noticed in a few 500 vids. Lovely bird. My favourite ever. Thanks for posting the video.
