5:45 the issue is the iphone is acting like a mirror and is reflecting the buildings on its back. Mi is trying to focus on those buildings sometimes depending on the angle determining is this the scene or is it the phone!. you can clearly see that it is focusing on the reflection itself, and when it is skewed enough it immediately shift to the iphone.

The focus must have also been updated. It's focus beats most all phones out now and most reviewers agree. I have not had any issues yet but I've only had mine a few days but I've done tons of daylight and night pics and videos as well as testing out it's slow motion 120/240/960! I'm pretty pleased so far.

Sorry, I didn't see the comment:( It costed like $500 USD in Mexico, 2 months before it was launched here I regret because a couple months later Xiaomi got more presence in the country and its products became cheaper xD And yeah, it is still running great, no hardware/camera problems, but I messed up the light sensor and I could not fix it, but that was my fault tho

There are soo few videos on KZread that focus on how good a phones video capabilities are, so to see this is awesome 👍🏿

I don't know if there is something to do with the region you pick Seriously LOL as mine which I just received 5/21/19 I do not look that pale like it did you. But I had a software update as soon as I powered up I updated it. So it's either the update or the region. You live in Hong Kong so they think your Chinese they may have a white balance there or it's the new update. Also what version? Chinese or global?

No zoom? On 4k recording?

Man, you can adjust saturation before shooting to litle more vibrant. It's wonderful later

me too the s10 has average battery and a midrange soc the mi 9 display is a bit less than the s10 but it is also a flagship grade display better than the vanilla op 7 and p30 so I prefer a bit less display and get significantly better soc the exynos lag in hdr ultra , even redmi note 8 pro don't and a much better battery and charging speed for half the price I got it now and it is amazing , every aspect of it

Your bugs were do to new software on the Mi 9. The MIUI 10 was built around the Mi 9 but it's new and apparently they now as most of the bugs have been worked out from what I'm seeing on a global edition

Change the saturation and that in the settings on the Mi 9 to see if it make much of a difference! also do a Gcam comparison! 😅

Wow. The EIS on the Mi 9 is amazing. It really blows out some of the flagship phones with OIS in video stabilization. The audio quality on the Mi 9 is better too in my opinion. The audio on the iPhone sounds like it has a lower bitrate (crunchy? 😂) than the audio on the Mi 9. The iPhone's video is also overexposed in my opinion.

Great and professional comparison between these two phones. Yes it's really time consuming to make videos like this. I don't expect that iOS users will switch to Android platform because of phone price, Android has to offer some revolutionary upgrades before some will switch. On the other hand Mi 9 offers so much for the price really can't think of any other phone that can come even close to Mi 9 considering price. I do understand people saying but there's no waterproofing if it's must have feature for them, but those who are complaining about notifications "bugs", missing OIS camera, stereo speaker, smaller battery and bla bla.., I can't take seriously. They want phone for 500 $ that outperform the phones costs twice as much. I think Xiaomi did amazing job with this phone I like it much and honestly I am considering buying Mi 9 SE global because of smaller screen size. Would appreciate if you get one for a review :-) Thanks for a great video.

Really love this very detailed comparison. 😁 My only creative input would be raising the resolution to 4k for these comparisons, as doing so would make these comparisons the first and last comparison you need (detail is sadly killed by 1080p bitrate of KZread 😔). Obviously this also depends on how you can export footage from your editing software 😉 (KZread loves massive bitrate to crush down). Wish I could see the detailing you describe 😉 but you've done a great job representing there colour and all other features. 😊 Re exporting this exact video in 4k high bitrate would fix this and make the video perfect. 😉 😎 That being said your still easily the best so keep up the amazing work. for the bugs and optimisation its because mi 9 is on new android 10, once its update both of them are comparable and the price gap is massive

TBH, Mi 9's front camera is not pleased... I love its' rear camera, but not the front camera. I used to have Mi 3, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 5, Mi Note 3 etc., all of the front camera overexposure

yep i agree with you there, the front cameras of Chinese smartphones all do the same thing, over-sharpen images and over-lighten skin tones, it's what the Chinese consumers want obviously :-)

I can see more details on your face with Mi camera, but the background looks a little bit blurry. The iPhone is the opposite, the background is sharper than you.

With the redmi and the iphone before, i was filming using the back cameras and talking into the front of the phones. The iphone therefore used it's back microphone, whereas the redmi only has one mic and so the iphone wasn't picking up my voice and the redmi mic was facing me, making the audio appear better on the redmi :-)
