That's a lot of it yeah. Trans people are heavily clustered in enclaves within cities which does lend a lot of credence to questioning the exact level of "organic" this kind of growth is. Also the umbrella for defining "trans" has become so unbelievably wide, a decade ago you had to be on HRT and taking steps to transition for people to take you seriously. Now it's "I identify as" and that's it, don't even need to transition to be considered trans despite that title explicitly coming from the word "transition." I live in the Midwest away from metropolis areas and it's a bit different of a story. I see other trans people here and there out in public, but we're a lot harder to spot. Not necessarily because "muh conservatards" but because we don't really go out of our way to make it clear we're trans, it isn't really the point. We'll dress like women and act generally like women in public with feminine hairstyles and at worst it's a physical looks/voice kind of giveaway if we're MTF. I go to Chicago and I can spot a fair few trans people because they're wearing shirts that transmogrify them into billboards more than the opposite gender. I have a nice, simple colored shirt, a matching skirt, and a ponytail with some nail polish and eyeliner. I'm not going out there with the butchiest haircut imaginable, chin stubble, or giving off the inflection the only time I'd ever pass is in a car then screaming I'm a woman and to treat me as such in an overly brutish and aggressive manner. Most people find out I was born male when I don't really bother that day and have a grungy look to me that looks more like "high school emo stoner." People think being trans is some kind of difficult challenge in life, it really isn't difficult on itself. If anything, people are more lenient with criticizing me, they're like afraid to treat me like a normal person and speak their fucking mind. What is difficult is having to bear the weight of all the more militant people who at most share an identifying word with me when I interact with people and they get sketched out learning I'm trans. Not as a "Oh, suddenly you've become weird" thing either, as a "Oh, are you going to freak the fuck out on me if I say "dude" once?" The Extremely Left trans people are the cancer that makes proper representation, assimilation, and effectively habitation more and more unattainable by the day. When the world wakes up and tells these goons to shut their traps forever, I fear that any progress in that area is going to be set back 20 years just from an extreme rubberband effect by a bunch of angry Christians who rightfully feel attacked in favor of these groups because their cancerous dichotomous thinking HAS to see these two things as at odds with one another... I'M A FUCKING YOUTH PASTOR. THESE THINGS AREN'T MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, QUIT MAKING THEM OUT TO BE.

Wait, wasn't NiGHTS from NiGHTS into Dreams the of game, the creator said NiGHTS has no gender it can be a boy or girl depends on if they choose Claris or Elliot. NiGHTS is a character which is what we should love, not the pronouns or gender. Twitter in general is hard to be in.

I wouldnt say its too far off. More like 2% I think. For every 200 people i see, I wouldn't be surprised if two of those were trans. That being said I'd understand it being 5% in a place like america, but in more developing countries I don't think it'd be anywhere as big as 5%.. like .000005%

@@steveminecraft5887 It wouldn't even be 5% in the most liberal cities in America. 2% could be accurate for California. The number of LGBT people in general has always been under 10%. There's no way half of all LGBT people are trans. That would be nuts.

Does the non binary idea hurt full transgender people who actually feel that they truly are the opposite sex, dress and live as the opposite sex, just as an idea that seems like being able to label yourself "brave" the way transgender people were being represented at the start of seeing it? Im not saying it doesn't exist or is impossible but to older people who actually try to grow with the times it just comes off as a confusing and often "part time" identity? Especially when the person claiming it is very clearly expressing themselves through their original genders looks, sexuality, and everything else and only pulling out the non binary in a few photo shoots or just to place personal stakes in conversations that otherwise would very much not include them? Don't get me wrong I'll call someone whatever the hell they want but non binary seems like something that 99 percent of the people claiming will abandon as soon as this isn't a main focus topic the way every college girl comes out as "proudly bi" but end up married to a guy and never mentioning it in public past the age of 25?

I'm non-binary because my gender dysphoria is usually only partial, sometimes intensifying to other parts of my body, and has persisted for a decade now. I have socially transitioned and plan to physically transition. There are trans people who don't want to physically transition but still socially transition, say from male to female. I think the persistent desire to transition not just socially, but physically as well means that I am trans by definition (I don't care much about the labels). If I could be rid of my dysphoria and live as my birth gender, I would do it happily. It is a confusing identity -- it confused me for a long time, especially for the first 5 years, but I can no longer hope that it will go away, and instead need to step up and try to normalize who I am to others, because it really isn't that big of a deal. I will agree that there are a chunk of non-binary/trans individuals who are confused and not genuinely trans, but typically, they are teenagers trying to figure themselves out or are looking for validation, so hating on them only hurts them in the long run and galvanizes them into HRT which they regret later. It's better that they gradually forget about being trans/nb

I'm trans and I don't really care about anyone else's identity, and I usually keep the fact that I'm trans to myself because it's usually not relevant. This is one of those few times where me being trans has something to do with the conversation. Overall, I don't care because if someone is nonbinary because it's also not relevant the majority of the time. I just call them a they and move on. If they grow out of it, idrc I am indifferent to it

Additionally, bi doesn't mean you're guaranteed to end up with the same sex. It's a separate identity from gay and lesbian for a reason. Someone ending up in a relationship with the opposite sex doesn't change the fact that they're bisexual

@@NotebookTheCat I meant no harm with this post and appreciate the in depth answer. As I said I will respectfully call people whatever they want as they know themselves best. The one question I do have is do you tend to present more male or female and if so are you offended when addressed with those pronouns? Having your friends or co workers call you by the preferred term is one thing but do you think non binary people who look and act very female for instance should get angry and correct strangers for using the pronouns most often linked to a feminine human in feminine clothes?

@@GHOSTALOID thank you for your input, this post may have come off more offensive than intended but it is just actual gen x confusion. If I know someone as a friend or coworker or such and they ask me to address themba certain way I absolutely will, But I understand trans people, I have known many people that have been born the wrong sex and I truly believe they were. I have also met bisexual people, and myself am asexual, but I'm a dude. Even if I don't pursue sexual relationships with women I am very much a guy. Non binary in some cases just still seems like wanting your cake and eating it too. To not have to take hormones, dress entirely as the other gender, pursue relationships with the same gender, or change your name. It seems like an opportunity for someone to be a straight cis person and still act personally offended by anti trans stuff. Not offended the way everyone should be by anti trans tuff. But able to say "oh yeah , well IIIIIIII'M NON BINARY! SO_____" etc
