I think this is an excellent choice for your kind of work regardless of being relatively expensive this machine is a "one man band" and should save you a lot of trailer hauling time say where you needed an excavator and loader. My brother bought one around 1985 (in UK) and said it was the best move ever because it made marginal jobs profitable to do and that made more work available. DO NOT skimp on maintenance $300 service will save you thousands. Some of your sound tracks are an assault on my "old ears" but we are not reviewing the "music"!

It’s a great piece of kit, since you guys are doing a lot of forestry work maybe you should look at the Menzi-Muck spider excavator also, they’ve got a hydraulic flow that’s mind blowing…. Mecalac comes from Annecy in France, and Annecy lies by a lake (lac in French) thus the name Mecalac, lovely place by the way.

Looks great guys! We run an 8MCR and 7MWR and one thing I would definitely recommend is to get your head around using the foot pedal for the intermediate boom, it will make it far better to use. We also very rarely use the skid mode for tracking around, only if we are traveling a long distance on site. Tracking on your feet keeps more of the machine functions available to you ensuring its versatility is maintained.

219!!! I drove my 5.9 over Eisenhower Pass and was at 225 and about flipped out (pulling 15 K). Local guy in Utah said , nope, normal. At home I'm at 600 ft elevation and NEVER see 205.Drove a friend's 5.9 dragging a jeep and saw 220 up to Nevada. Freaked me again but nice to know it does that in thin air. Plus his truck!

That 2 pc boom is really cool!! More versatile, like it was made for an operation like yours!! The low growl of the engine (my laptop is plugged into near-field monitors) just feels like a lot of power!! The rear wheel of the track (drive wheel?) is larger than the front? It just looks well/heavy built! Congrats on the new machine!! 8) --gary
