I’ve got the TSP kit with the high compression head (I ride 5,000 ft +) on my 2021 TX300i and it’s amazing how smooth the power delivery is. The bike immediately sounds different on startup, I would describe it as a more refined sound if that makes any sense. The power is thicker and stronger in the low to mid range, but there is no perceptible hit when the power valve begins to open. It feels like an electric motor, just a constant smooth increase in power. I have not installed the air screw mod. No need as it idles perfect and is super crisp on the bottom end. TSP says 80% of the people who install their kits report no need to do the air screw mod.

Can’t wait to see the comparisons between Heads, From what I understand, basically, Rich is saying that I will be able to “Tune “ my bike for specific applications by changing out the Heads, for Technical situation. - Low compression head, .... Wide open riding (i.e. Desert racing or moto’s) use the high compression head Will be interesting to see torque curves on the dyno..

Rich, I enjoy your videos. You are reconfiguring the engineering on the engine. 1) Have you spoken with GasGas(KTM) about this mod and why THEY didn't make the bike this way to start with? I have a 2021FE 501 and bought into the "Mod" from another vender, which made the bike perform worse and run louder, against my son-in-law's recommendation. (A former KTM employee) 2) Did you ride the bike with the lower compression head, without the ECU mod? Thank you...Again, I think you do a great job and I aspire to have half of your skills and work at it three times a week, balancing, every day. 3) Do you think slipping the clutch would give you the same effect?

What made you choose the medium over low or high? I'm about to pull the trigger and I'm still hesitant between the 3 different heads. I was told that the compression ratio didn't really have anything to do with the smoothness but rather the remapping. I ride between 0 and 1500ft so elevation isn't a problem. I ride more the single, gnarly, hard Enduro type than anything else but don't mind the occasional wide open double track transits. I'm looking for help in choosing.

I put a TSP high compression head/ecu reflash on my 2020 250xc-w and air screw at 70 hours on bike. My stock bike ran great with air screw at 5 turns out. I found when I started bike after install I needed to turn idle screw in to bring idle up or it would stall and very rich down low. After messing with idle screw I founded getting it to point of to lean then turning it back in a little to richen up idle and adjusting air screw to 3 turns out now my bike flat out rips hard now. Still super smooth but big difference between map 1 and 2. It works and uses more fuel and oil it seems but who cares. Best feeling 250 2 stroke I have road carb or TPI. Very highly recommended so far with 2 hours but do Recommend messing with air screw and idle screw to get the most out of it. Also adjust powervalve to what TSP recommends which I had mine set to what they recommend before I installed kit anyways.

Rich - Love the videos! Question - I did the throttle screw mod and it made a big difference on my KTM300XC 2020. On this mod you did - is there a set position they recommend on power valve, etc or do you have to do a trial and error on that - or is it consistent where that is at along with this mod? Meaning - very easy to set it up and get a great feel? My buddy has the RK Head and his bike felt smooth - he does not have an ECU flash. He has the high compression one. Leaning towards the low compression but may have to wait for your other tests! We are single track/Enduro riders in TX.
