@@feelingveryattackedrn5750 meh, to each their own. For me, rewatching works for movies, but shows - particularly anime due to the genre's normal pacing issues, flashbacks etc. - bore me. Then there's the whole concept of wanting to ride the twists and turns together, which is a whole different experience to already knowing. Your comment kinda totally defies why people have issues with spoilers - many folks want their experience to be a certain way. I wouldn't call that 'weird' in the slightest - tbh it's pretty self-centred to call that weird or 'not understandable'. Trump is 35 - I think he knows what watching habits work best for him.

Strong disagree, yeah. Drake is effectively +12 HP, 6 from the 6/4 trade and 8 on the drake itself. Walking Fountain kill the 6/4 and heals for 4, so that's 10 HP, then kills the 3/4 that buffs the other 3 minions for 1, healing 4 and effectively taking another 6 damage off the board. That's +20HP, and next turn he can do it again, which should more than easily stabilize him as his opponent was starting to run short on cards.

With the Protodrake, Trump was actually dead on board. Use location on the 6 attack minion & trade into taunt, then everything face + hero power is lethal.

That sounds like a lot of fun! It would probably make you feel a little better when you get an abysmal draft and can switch out a couple of the cards. It could also help with synergy issues, all while not making decks too strong as long as the newly offered cards are fair.

I suppose that technically you'd be correct, but I don't think "love at first sight" is supposed to be taken that literally as to be able to use in the way you do here. The internet kinda messes up the whole idea though, as the term is meant for the first time you become aware of someone's existence, and being physically around someone is a whole other experience; their energy and eyes and everything is part of creating the effect that makes people feel like they're immediately in love. If you already knew them it's not quite the same thing.

Bleach is just trash. Has nothing to do with length. One Piece is a better investment for time and actually holds up. If you wanted to watch an old anime about a guy who dies and gets revived with powers, watch the original that Bleach stole from: Yu Yu Hakusho.

Question for anime fans: Do you ever get pissed off at the plethora of poor writing in anime that comes from possibly cultural differences? You know...when the MC makes a bet he thinks he's likely to lose where he bets everything, often including a woman's freedom, and if he wins he gains nothing? What kind of idiot makes a bet like that? So many anime have infuriatingly terrible writing and one dimensional characters.

Yeah, I often get really annoyed when characters are completely useless. Often this is due to older Japanese cultural norms about portraying female characters as useless (For example, Sakura in Naruto... Who also has that really poorly written random falling in love with a guy who barely acknowledges her existence). Though, it extends beyond that in many cases and characters are just written as being useless for no reason (A couple of characters come to mind that annoy me from how useless they are include Lucy from Fairy Tail which is annoying because of how cool everyone else is, including Erza. Also, Usopp from One Piece who's annoying because he does occasionally have moments where he's cool but 99% of the time is completely useless) That said, this isn't exclusive to Eastern media, plenty of Western media also has poor writing and terrible characters. It mostly comes down to lead writers putting in their own biases.

I can point at House as a clear cut example of a doctor who wouldn't have a job due to his gross malpractice in the real world. Granted the show is getting to be dramatic and not medically accurate. There are plenty of shows with poorly written characters or bad plot lines. I wonder if it's because anime gets churned out so rapidly with seemingly no intention to have anything past a first season for 99% of it that there are so many with absolutely no effort put in. Even very successful ones you can see that they had no intentions of making a second season and you'll have to wait years for most to come out with a second season because by the time they greenlight it the animation company has other commitments in front of it. It seems like so many animes are really bad and I feel like it's either because seemingly there's never an intention to continue an anime past S1 and only sell more manga or because of a cultural misunderstanding that doesn't appeal to me as a western viewer, like deciding to use middle school or high school children for literally every MC for no reason. I don't understand why you have to have a character's love interest be a 900 year old demon/elf/demi-something/magic creature that looks like a 10 year old girl. Sometimes I feel like the MCs are children just so the love interest can be a little girl. I tell my partner this all the time about how frustrating it is because I like anime and I want to like the shows I watch but I hate anime for all the stupid tropes that are out there. I don't understand why they keep making brain dead protagonists who can't understand simple human interactions like someone hitting on you. I don't get the love for these horrible people "tsundere" who are just complete dirt bags 90% of the time but have a pretty face so it's ok. No idea why Japanese love the idea of slavery in fantasy anime or why they so desperately want the main love interest to be children. Why are there characters who have no redeeming qualities but said "hi" to a girl once and now she loves him for some reason?

@@Kefka2010 When they use a young protagonist, it's usually because that's their target audience. It's easier for people that age to relate to the MC when it's someone their age. Beyond that, some tropes are done because they know that fans like those tropes. There are plenty of people who like tsundere and yandere characters for example.
