Huge Reaction & Analysis of Eesti Laul 2024 Live Semifinal Qualifiers! | Eurovision 2024 Estonia

Музыка

Wonderful cinematography, diversity and lots of my comments. Did I like miinust & Puuluup - "(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi" ? Or I prefer "My Friend" from Ollie? And what about Ewert and The Two Dragons, their "Hold Me Now" might impress, right? "Korra Veel" from Peter Poder and Anet Vaikmaaa with "Serotoniin" received second chance, can they impress in the finals? All those questioned answered.

Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway (MGP 2017, MGP 2023, MGP 2024 as a spokesperson), Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.
And then I became Eurovision KZreadr.
Just amazing to be part of this community, so check my Humans of Eurovision, check my Eurovision reaction videos. The best Eurovision reaction channel. Of course that is maybe too much to say haha. This is Eurovision reaction channel. Eurovision opinion channel and you can find everything about Eurovision here. From a different perspective.

I know the 5miinust+Puulup is a risky act to send to Eurovision, but it is too unique and fun to overlook. Why juries should consider giving it points: (i) it blends two styles of music (rap and folk) seamlessly in a fresh and unique way (i.e., musical innovation); (ii) the song tells a timely-relevant story about marginalized groups and their interaction with authorities; (iii) the music includes a historically relevant musical instrument that is being revived by Puulup.

Ewert and the Two Dragons my personal favourite so glad to hear some positivity for it as haven’t seen much else online (fingers crossed for shock result!) Out of the two favourites, Ollie and 5miinust&Puuluup, I prefer the latter as it’s fun and in Estonian which is an added bonus. Ollie’s seems like something we’ve heard before. But I agree, with lots of other uptempo/90s/fun songs in national selections if lots get to ESC then 5miinust&Puuluup may struggle. All this to say, let’s hope Ewert and the Two Dragons get a surprise win to ESC 😂

There are songs and acts that are "not really my thing" too but I can still appreciate them and the fact that other people might like them. Technically the genre is 'fusion' when, say, traditional and modern types of music are mixed, such as in the song by 5MIINUST x Puuluup. 5MIINUST is a long-standing hip hop group on a professional level and Puuluup is a nu-folk duo who performs internationally as well. So to blend the two styles of music so effectively in a fun and engaging way is deserving of merit.

sure! you are right! I am more and more thinking of making a very personal video, so my view is even more understandable for a bigger picture. As I am basically not hating it, I understands it and also kinda admire. But not for Eurovision. The reason is very simple - more of funny songs in, less quality artists in the future and welcome back to 2000s Eurovision. And I agree fun is needed, but I prefer in the way of energy of "Fuego songs" or songs like Finland had last year.

@JanBors I can see your point of view. "Fuego" and "Cha Cha Cha" were underrated and I also liked them both. At least 5MIINUST and Puuluup don't have goofy costumes and props. Their outfits at the live semi final performance were quite muted. I think they may want people to focus on the music, production, staging and choreography, which is quite good. Let's wait to see their live performance at the Grand Final though. Their song is legitimately "top tier" and it's not a joke song, according to Sidni, a homegrown KZreadr who did a video on Eesti Laul 2024. The whole reason Eurovision was started in 1956 was to boost people's morale after WWII and to showcase national languages. In these trying times, uplifting and light-hearted offerings may be in order. Music appreciation is subjective and I get that not all songs resonate with everybody.

@JanBors personally as an Estonian, I'd love for it to win because it's fun and catchy, because it's completely different than anything we've sent to Eurovision in a long time (mostly safe pop and ballads with Elina Nechayeva being the only recent exception), and because I'd love to see the Estonian language in Eurovision again for the first time in 10 years
