HUGE POWER from Yamaha R1M & R1! Dyno Day! | R1M Series Part 10 | Motomillion
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We've got power numbers!
The Motomillion R1M AND 60th Anniversary R1 finally got taken to the dyno and put down some very impressive results
The Yamaha R1 platform has always been seen as an underdog in the horsepower section, so we were pleasantly surprised to see the power numbers that were put down. None of us expected to see such high numbers.
So what sets these R1's apart? The Akrapovic WSBK full titanium system. Our hats go off to the research and development behind it, and we know that the WSBK velocity stacks have astounding potential in them. With a little more work, we think the WSBK velocity stacks could be unlocked for even higher power numbers.
We thank our good friend Brendan at BrenTuning for helping us out dialing in the tune on these bikes.
198 WHP on both the R1M and 60th Anniversary R1!
Maybe we can cross that 200 WHP number in a future video 👀

People need to take a more serious look at these Yamahas before putting down that money on a Panigale or an S1000rr. These numbers were super impressive, and both bikes look the business too!

Thank you Mike. The S1000RR is still probably one of the strongest 1000cc engines. Panigale’s are cheater bikes with 103cc’s added but the new 2023 V4R looks to be the king of power. We will find out soon!

I absolutely like how these twin cross planes are meticulously set-up. the thing I love most about your builds, are the parts. Not only are they extremely stylish and posh, they are truly functional. Miami Mani even Chris Moore from Moore Mafia said that he can shift the dip on the power curve on the R1M from higher to lower in the rev range but it is not removable. One time he said that there is governor on ignition timing at a certain RPM that is locked 🔐 on the 2019+ R1s. Earlier 2015-18 R1s that was removable. Very glad to see 2 of the best tuners is the USA Brendan from Brentuning and Chris Moore giving the best industry results. Thanks for the info Miami Mani

We are just as curious as many of you are!
Ok so first off, it's so rare to see a R1 making that kind of power, and here are 2 making basically the same number. These are about 7HP stronger than the stronger R1s out there, I'm having trouble believing there's 7hp more room in Akro exhaust systems for improvement. That being said, the baseline on the R1M was on a different dyno, so that number is not irrelevant to the 198 number. I'd bet that dyno would baseline the M at upper 170s. I have a soft spot in my heart for the R1s, it's unfortunate Yamaha only feels the need to update their bikes every 10 years. I don't trust those numbers, but those are some clean builds, nice work Mani.
@Motomillion
Жыл бұрын
You are forgetting the fact that the flash is different from the other R1s that you are comparing to. We will be taking other bikes to run, so that you can compare. By the way both were dynojets.
@Cobradaddy
Жыл бұрын
@@Motomillion What's different about the flash that others aren't doing on other R1s? Dynos can vary day to day, completely different Dynos can't be compared to each other without back to back runs. There's very few near 200 HP R1s is all I'm saying and you have 2. From a person that watches lots of Dyno videos and reads a lot of fourm posts, that Dyno seems a bit happy. I'd like to see it back on the "Red" Dyno.
@Motomillion
Жыл бұрын
Dyno’s vary from day to day if you are calibrating the wheel to the rpm. Day to day variance also could be weather related but it wont vary that much. The biggest variable is the dyno’a not being used properly. Go check the exhaust install video and we show in detail how different it is from consumer models. We actually took some other bikes on this dyno today which we will post on our next video and power numbers were bang on with manufacturers claimed numbers. Dont forget, horsepower is not what a dyno measures. A dyno measures torque, then through the formula it calculates horsepower. One variable on this formula is RPM. If you are not getting a proper and consistent RPM reading, your numbers will never be consistent as you say. In case you didnt know the formula Horsepower = Torque x RPM / 5,252.
@Cobradaddy
Жыл бұрын
@@Motomillion Correct, the day to day variance will be weather related. I appreciate your input, however, I believe the majority of people would question the practice of dynoing a bike on 2 different Dynos on 2 different occasions, and then comparing those numbers. I'm completely ok with disagreeing with each other, but if you could stick to one Dyno, it would help eliminate this discussion and give a more accurate start and finish number.
