I actually hugely disagree. I was super hyper for this game but the more that's revealed the more I'm not buying it. I had preorderes both switch and ps5 versions but since canceled them. For 2 main reasons. First the first person view for combat is just straight stupidity. You opt to waste this gorgeous hd2d art style. Just a stupid idea. 2nd they need to cut ties with sweetbaby Inc because it's going to sink square Enix sooner than later. Making person a and person b was enough to make me cancel. I'm sick and tired of this woke DEI shit in our games. Square Enix can't afford to keep flopping. Rebirth was a disappointment in every single aspect from boring ubisoft open world type things to do to more woke DEI elements peppered everywhere from the date night to the underwear scene. Square Enix has the potential with this octopath style art to really capitalize but yet again they dropped the ball.c they just lost 150$ from me and I know plenty of others. Think about who actually shows up to buy their games. Unless they change it back to make or female I will not be buying this. I overlooked the first person debacle because the art was just so gorgeous but I can't overlook sweetbabys involvement. Good job Square Enix

I'm more hype than ever for this remake! Now, I need to find a good spot to go hibernate...wake me up on November 14th.

It's so beautiful! - I want DQ 1- 9 like this! I also wanted all the old FF games like this and when the pixel remasters got announced I was like "This is it!!" but nope haha, still they were great but man I want this style for all the old ones.

This looks amazing! I want all my favorite old school RPGs to get remade exactly like this! Wow!

I can't wait to dive into this masterpiece! I have fond memories of playing the GBC version back when I was a kid and that was my gateway drug into RPGs 😂 I'm really excited to see all of the changes and upgrades, especially the new vocation Monster Master!

Yup, Dragon Warrior III on GBC was my first JRPG as well. Have played through it more times than I can count…so excited to relive this classic in 2D-HD

I couldn’t get into DQ11 but I can’t wait to play this!

This is looking like quite the game of the year contender if I am honest! DQIII is certainly a fan favourite and this looks like it will be the new definitive way to play the game.

I'm super excited for the game. Already have the physical copy preordered for Xbox series X.

I understand both sides of the first person 3rd person debate. Personally id really love them giving us both options. I am open to giving 1st person a try.

I avoided Dragon Warrior on the NES because of the 1st person combat view. But after having played the 1st three NES Final Fantasies, I still craved for more JRPGs so I gave DW a try.... Despite it just having blinking sprites and combat actions described by text, it managed to convert me. I had much more fan with DW than FF.

I also noticed equipment at the start of the game is way cheaper.

Really hope a demo is available near the release date, I'm new to the series having only played DQXIS on the Switch and even though this looks gorgeous the first person combat is quite a letdown, hope they let us try the game in a demo so I can decide if I should buy it or not

I've only played DG11 and i was amazed i never played any since i played ff7 back then as a kid, honestly a first person mode won't bother me much since i play some optional fps games, it wouldn't surprise me if somehow they patch in a different view mode that would boost sales.

Very cool! They mentioned in the Nintendo Direct that new players can start with this 3 remake and then play 1&2. Do you agree or is that sacrilege? Also, have you seen the Switch version? Do we know if it's 60fps and just lower resolution than PS5?

I’m It’s always going to be confusing starting a series with its 3rd game haha. I’ll roll with it for now! And I’m sure during the preview I went to we were told the switch would be 30fps, I played the PS5 version so can’t confirm for sure

I played the PS5 version and I have the PS5 version pre ordered so I'd say PS5. But it's up to preference, PS5 has trophies and Switch has the portability to play anywhere

On ever DQ III video is a gripe about FPS combat and the perceived “laziness”. Bruh, it’s not lazy. It’s a stylistic decision. They remade this game from the ground up. These complainers are acting like they just took the assets from the 1988 release and updated the graphics LOL.

yes some people are acting like this is a remaster and not a remake witch i don't understand either. than some people want to point out the small stuff like not having he she at the beginning of the game. having body type one and body type 2 shakes my head.

honestly, I think that's a really good compromise in terms of 1st person and 3rd person combat. I always wished I could see what my characters looked like fighting in the older DQ games, but if it was all in 3rd person, then it wouldn't feel as much like the source material. Having a bit of both sounds really good to me.

I think 3 points need to be optimized: 1️⃣The character’s movement feels like drifting. It can be changed to running or the movement speed can be slowed down. 2️⃣The battle screen is either the entire third perspective or the entire first perspective. This switching is very confusing. Or give players a choice of two perspectives. There are old fans who like the first perspective, and there are new generations who want to see their characters in battle. 3️⃣After changing the equipment, the character has not changed at all. This is very abrupt. There is no ax prepared on the warrior, but the character is always carrying an ax on the screen. It is already 2024. How much does it cost to draw several characters with different preparations?

I’m really glad someone is pointing out the “best of both worlds” style of third and first person just isn’t a best of either. I’m concerned the battles are gonna feel choppy because of it

@@GenesisVII I’m not happy with Pixel Remaster. HD-2D remake of the SNES trilogy, and then maybe of the NES trilogy.

Starting play dq back at 2020 out of curiosity . I tried dq 1 and its alright then i change to dq5 and actually finished it 🙂. Then 8 after finished that i go for 11 and so far 11 is my favortite. Looking at this makes me think : why the hell we going backwards 😑 . Im so exited for this game but its so hard to go back to the first person point view after dq11. As new fans i do hope they gonna fix or give us an option. Im down with nostalgia all and all but for me i just love cool stuff. I mean the characters is RIGHT THERE just pan out and give that sprite breeze of life😅

Original DQ3 had the entire battle in first person, at least you get to see your party in 3rd person while in the planning part of a turn

So there are no attack animations? Thats a bummer. Went from a buy at launch to wait for big discount. Comming from someone who only played 8 and 11

SquareEnix took out male and female type hero but put Type A, Type B character thanks to working with ped0 Sweet baby corp.

While this issue probably doesnt affect the game much, i wont support this stupid garbage. Everyone is like WHY DO YOU CARE.. and the point is.. i work for my money, and when i spend my money, that is an extension of what i believe and support. I wont support this nonsense.. if everyone said they wont allow it or support. It would be changed immediately back. This will not age well, when people come back to normality and realize there are boys and there are girls.. and not type a and type b people.

I know a ton of people that won't be playing due to first person battles. I know it's a staple for japanese fans, but if they are struggling to make DQ big in the west (and believe me, they are), that's a major point they should address. It's ugly even for me and I have beaten every DQ out there

Going first person in combat really kills a lot of hype for this game. That to me just screams lazy design, alot of the joy from these games comes from seeing the animations in combat. Going first person just takes you out of that completely

That and just learning every white/black mage spell in game + the few skills Merchant/Thief/Jester had on the Switch version easily takes me over 20 hours add in that in order to run away FROM EVERYTHING in the final dungeon 100% of the time needs a LV 85 party that ALONE from lv 40 could add in like ANOTHER 10 to 20 HOURS killing the liquid metal slimes outside of the final dungeon itself.

Man i was hype but this got DEI corrupted... if male and female are removed and changed to type A and B, how are the gender specific gears gonna work then? Can both type A and type B equip bikinis now? What about the charm/seduction skills? 😅

Not a fan of first person combat in RPGS

I'm disappointed by the first person combat view. I expected something like HD golden sun, i don't get why they decided to go 1st person

I was so excited for this game, but now that it's confirmed that the fights are in first person, it really put me off, I understand that DQ fans like it (I've just played DQ XIS, and loved it), but I just can't get into it, I was planning to reserve it, but now maybe I'll get it in 2 years on a big discount, lucky me there are many turn-based JRPGs coming so I can wait.

game will run a very low at 18 fps average.

They’re disappointed by the camera view of the combat cuz the do not play the older DQ titles like i was from 1-11 in my 3 year adventure with this series as a fan.

@@Pleinair92 I started the license with DQXI. I am a regular at FF. So for me not seeing our characters execute spells or attacks I find it lazy. If they can give players a choice on the camera angle we want that would be great.

Equipment is changing but no combat animations, yeah I know it's being faithful to the original...how convenient though, it's not like they're trying to save money or anything 😅. How on earth can a first person combat attract new players, especially the younger generations? Game isn't even out yet that it is already doomed! Typical Japanese company move, saving money at all cost and cutting corners where it shouldn't be!

Gender no woke square Enix

Unfortunately I will have to boycott this game because they decided to do away with the gender selection option in favor of the Body Type A / Body Type B. It's terribly sad, because I love Dragon Quest 3, but this kind of behavior shouldn't be condoned. I can't believe Square Enix.

Doesn't matter...it was in the NES era....we are not at that era anymore and there is no excuse to not show the characters in battle....it won't simply sell and won't attract no newcomers... not after dragon quest 8,9 and 11...and dragon quest VII remake too...and this game doesn't even have an groundbreaking story either so can't even depend on that

Many whiners in the comment section are complaining about the "why is DQ3 having first person?" Or "Why are genders now changed to type A/B" It is hilarious to me how people are getting annoyed for the most irrelevant reasons RPGS started as first person because of hardware limitation but also for the immersion. Newsflash, did you know your life is in first person? Thats the immersion part and no need for flashy lights and spinny camera angles here. Type A/B instead of gender is nothing new. Just look at Demon Souls and Elden Ring. Would you now start boycotting FromSoftware?
