‘Huge labour shortage’ in Australian agriculture
There’s a “huge labour shortage” in the Australian agriculture industry which ranges from skilled to short-term workers according to National Farmers Federation Vice President David Jochinke.
“Which equates to roughly 172,000 people that we require just to get the work done,” he told Sky News Australia.
“So what we’re wanting to see is … some significant programs to help fill that void, noting that we used to have a lot of this filled by the holiday worker market which has changed due to some regulatory changes but also Australia being less attractive.”

Huh? this has been a problem for a long time now even before the internet was ever invented .
Meanwhile, we have a serious shortage of accommodation in Australia.
Foreign agricultural and construction workers cannot enter Australia because Education mafias has controlled immigration rules. They have designed a lot of traps and barriers to immigration regulations, to make sure only student visa easy to apply and fullfilled. If foreign construction workers can build cheap housing in Australia, then the properties investments of education mafias will plummet. If foreign agriculture workers easily come to Australia, then nobody will pay the education mafias 5 times tuition fees for trade certificate or diploma. If this education mafias keep controlling this imigration, food crisis, cheap housing crisis and healthcare crisis keep exist in Australia.
I still have unskilled $30 an hour cleaning jobs going. Can't get anyone to work....but the unemployment rate is low? I call bullshit.
Sell the farms to the Chinese. And no more problem

@Lonebiker : Rubbish, that is an urban myth. Minimum was is over $25 an hour and case rates mean exceptionally good money can be earnt by hard workers.

Check out farm labour wages. Wealthy Farmers too tight to pay a decent liveable wage , they deserve all they get . Too many tax breaks. 1 bad season and they scream out for taxpayer funded handouts ( welfare ). Cereal farmers in SA make millions season after season . Farmers rave on about people not wanting to work. Workers will no longer be low paid slaves.

Back in the day did grape picking ... 5$ a bucket .. huge buckets small bundle of grapes .. conditions were piss poor ... yea bring more migrants because there use to the abuse by farmers

Seems like a paradise for people getting rich, why not be a grower yourself.
But unemployment is at an all time low.
Send the illegal immigrants arriving to America to help !
Cut and time the dole. There are more than 2 million working age australians on welfare. It's self inflicted problem. 🦘🇦🇺
