I read part of one Hubbard’s books but never finished it cos I left in an airport. As a piece of science fiction I thought it was quite a good read but not exactly Isaac Asimov.

that book sat on my shelf in the 70's I never read it but I perused it and thought it was science fiction which it turned out to be after all. Utterly insane "beliefs " spouted by the worst kind of person. Dont care what people say about them helping. The roots of their fake religion are rotten. Much like the mormons. Its a CULT!

The IRS had a huge battle against them before they were determined to be a church granting their tax exempt status, IRS capitulated.

I was on the Purification Rundown when I was involved in Scientology in 1982. Along with high dosages of vitamins, we were also taking high dosages of niacin. The niacin made my skin turn bright red like I had the worst sunburn. I paid nearly a thousand dollars for the Purification Rundown. That's a fraction of the cost of what they charge for the therapy they call 'auditing'. By 1988 I finally came to my senses and quit Scientology. I applaud people like Andrew Gold, Aaron Smith-Levin, Leah Remini, Mike Rinder and so many others for exposing this money making and mind controlling cult.

FWIW, niacin is Vitamin B3. Normal side effect of larger doses are the “niacin flush” redness, tingling of face, neck and chest”. However larger doses can cause diarrhea, easy bruising, and can increase bleeding from wounds. Even higher doses of 3,000 mg/day or more can cause nausea, vomiting, and liver damage.

Priscilla is in pretty deep and it's terrible Lisa Marie's son Benjamin said Scientology messed him up. I think it must have attributed to his suicide. I read Lisa got out, I sure hope that's true. Is her daughter Riley ? I pray Riley will get out if she hasn't. Priscilla seems to be a dark one now.

Listening to you talk about children brought up in these cults puts me in mind of a family i knew. The daughter was my age, 16, and a total rebel that wouldnt go along with it. Her older brother 17 was such a lovely person and quietly did as he was told which meant standing on street corners handing out the watchtower magazine in our small town. It was painful to observe him being ridiculed by his peers. The end result of this was when he hung himself before the age of 18. Im almost 80 now and still cant get past the horror of what that religion and his father enforced on him. RIP dear Russell.😢

When I was a kid , I took the test 3 times and my results were 157. The scientology I. Q. test said I was 144 but in time I could increase it through them. The 2 women running the stall wore white shirts and black skirts. I stood very close and heard the women tell the girls that they could have free stress reduction classes. I immediately said "girls, please don't listen, those women are part of a cult called Scientology". The girls stepped back as I told them how dangerous the cult is. The girls were horrified and left. I then ran to the nearby Town Hall and told them what happened. 2 security came back with me and asked the women if they were Scientology members. They admitted it and were told to pack up their stall and leave. They had booked their place by calling themselves relaxation therapists. The Council asked me to give a written statement, which I happily gave. Scientology uses various cover stories to sneak into events. Thankfully, we have laws to protect people against cults.

People have had enough. I don’t think anyone would join Scientology and become members if they actually knew what happens once they do. Former members that managed to escape are coming forth and telling, and it was an absolute nightmare for them. Many people have been separated from their children, parents, and siblings, and have never been able to see them again, because they managed to escape but their families stayed behind, and for some, it’s been decades, even though they’ve been trying to see them since they left.

Makes me wonder how much good could be done if Scientologists and other people in high-control orgs used all that energy and hard work for education, starting legit businesses, inventing things, research, working at things they want to do, spending time with your kids (which Scientology seems to hate), etc.?

IRS can’t revoke the CoS tax exempt quickly enough and these scumbags need to be held criminal liable.

I lived in Portland OR and had no friends or family or anybody. I got sucked into the church of Scientology there in Portland but I quit when they started encouraging me to max out my credit cards, take loans, and get more credit cards to pay for my auditing etc because I had no free cash to give the church.

I mean..... We have seen many begin in currently living people's lifetime, and we have seen some even end. Most of those unfortunately that have ended, have ended it in a bad way (ie. drinking kool-aide or Waco). The end of NEXIUM was a good victory in the battle against cults (although still some follow Keith Rienery from behind bars). I was approached by a recruiter in the mid 70's in Portland, OR, really nice guy, which then led me to their office for a survey of my personality. Did not know anything about this organization. But got a bad vibe with the interviewer and didn't go any further. Kind of rattled me a bit. But discernment, even at my young age, saved me from this place, and they from me, I was just a poor college kid.

He practically saved Hollywood last summer with the 2nd Top Gun. He is bringing people back into theater's and will do so again this summer with the new MI. The media and rest of the Hollyweird media, reporters, critics, etc fawn over him is simply because of one reason and one reason only.... MONEY. Money is always the factor in anything in life. It's not until he stops bringing in money will he then be questioned about Scientology Again. This is not a crime by a “religious” organization…Scientology only calls itself a religion or even a church for tax exemption status and to sound legitimate. It’s an ORGANIZATION and nothing more. It has nothing to do with God, the only god in the organization, to loyal members, is David Miscavedge, AND the late founder of Scientology (his first name was Lafayette ) but he’s better known as L. Ron Hubbard. Hubbard admitted he got the idea from Alister Crowley who wanted nothing to do with God, and suggested the best way to get rich quick was to start a FALSE religion, and that’s what Hubbard did.

Thanks to people like you, I've been able to help others see the fraud in scientology. For example, my dad said he liked them, solely because of their PR essentially. By the end of the convo, I changed his mind.

Why do people always conclude that the seriousness of a crime should reduce protections for the accused? The statute of limitations is there for a reason which doesn't disappear with increasing seriousness of the crime. Convicting an innocent person for a very serious crime is a tragedy in itself.

Blows my mind that they do nothing about Miscavige's missing wife. She has been missing.for YEARS!!!! Sloan Bella tapped into her energy and claims her body is cryogenically frozen. A crime obviously has taken place with that woman.... and nothing is done. It's disgusting.

I worry for Shelley Miscavige. She’s vanished and to what extent her husband is effectively holding her under house arrest has been an issue for some time. Maybe if she was named as a defendant and had to be deposed then maybe that would give professionals the opportunity to check she’s ok.

As a former Christian, I recall pastors encouraging female members of the church to bring their men to church. I never knew about the Honey Pot term, but I viewed what the pastor doing as mechanism to increase ichurch attendance. It’s similar to ladies night at the club.

Two decades ago the local chapter of Scientology used to "mass leaflet" our local fresh food market here in Adelaide (owner operated fresh food stalls, basically). It's a great precinct which includes our local Asian fresh and dry groceries also. I would pass through there three times a week in those days, on my way to buy groceries, very affordable. I often saw large piles of Scientology pamphlets in places where people would sit to drink take away coffee. I had a lot of fun scooping up a ton of these leaflets and tossing them in the recycle bin as I went. Multiple times each week for quite a few years. Very satisfying! It must have been puzzling for those who kept replacing this stuff, but were not getting any new recruits out of it!

When i was a youngster l met a lady and her little daughter who were out feeding the birds and when the lady told me they were JWs i asked her why they go knocking on doors. I knew what he meant by “honeypot” from the context but it has a very different connotation to me. There’s a company in my area that rents out portable outhouses for construction sites, festivals, etc. They’re called Honeypots.

@Pea_Green yea, I get that Tom Cruise's issues are nowhere near as awful as someone like Marion Zimmer Bradley, but I still think he's so Gung ho on Scientology because he's so narcissistic! Miscavage definitely found the button on Tom. Just fluff his ego, and treat him like he's royalty and he'll never leave. Ugh! 🙄

I hate to say this, but with the way they deliberately isolate their Orb workers, cutting them off from family and friends on the outside, how do we know how many more “Lisa McPhersons”might have been? David Miscavedge’s wife went missing years ago, and she’s probably dead, but its treated almost like she never existed. If it wasn’t for people like Leah and Mike, I’m not sure anyone would even know about it.
