My Lowes likes to water everything too much, especially those that don’t need a ton of water. Snake plants, succulents, etc way too wet with gnats flying around.

I bought a twisted lipstick plant from Lowes back in the summer and it was so gorgeous. So lush it almost looked fake. Took it outside to water and forgot to bring it in and it got fried by the hot FL summer sun😭

Are those more prone to spider mites than other philodendrons?

My local Walmart has a pretty nice selection for international plant day January 10th!

One of my sweetest planty friends found a huge Hoya krimson princess at Lowe's and knew I was looking for one, so she grabbed it for me!!! They have had some gorgeous Chelsea's in my area Lowe's lately too

I checked my local Lowe's after your video and found many clearance plants and almost bought a shingle plant but noticed mealies so left it behind. I did get a Silver Streak Pothos and Golden Violin Philodendron and they are very nice!

Thank you for another great video. I forgot to share that I ordered one of your sweatshirts in the green color. I absolutely love it. It's so soft and comfy. I live in FL and I've actually been able to wear it a few times already.

Our local Lowe’s does not put anything on the reduced price rack until the plant is dead or as close to death as it can get. What they sell for regular price is many times in nearly as bad a shape. Most of the plants are near the door where it is freezing cold this time of year. Tropical plants right by a busy door! Unfortunately it is quite a drive to get to an actual nursery. I have been buying plants online during the warmer months.

I remember passing up one of those big wayetiis years ago. To this day, I still regret it. That other ZZ next to the Zenzi could be Zamicro. I have seen a few of those pop up lately at big box stores. Their leaves are smaller than regular ZZ.

The first time I saw the Frankie fittonia was on etsy someone was selling on etsy for $25 , when I saw it in the big box store for $5 I snatched it up and put it in my planter that had polkadot plants. It was a favorite planter I had at my front door.

I just grabbed a big Wayetii at Lowes this weekend! I'm in love!

Love your shopping video's, so nice to see what plants are out there. I think (apart from the Wyettii) that the hanging succulent gardens are so lovely. It's a great idea if you're low on space like me and you have South facing windows 😊🪷💖

I have a Fittonia Frankie and it stays bright pink in low-ish light. Gets droopy when dry and bounces right back with some water.

Nice lineup! Our Lowes here are great when the plants come in! Wait too long and they seem to overwater and kill. I know because I am in there for DIY materials frequently.

Here in Lynchburg, VA Walmart cleared out all of their plants during the holiday season (great deals - I'll know next year). Lowe's and Home Depot here are hit or miss. Plant inventory is definitely based on your areas. Great video🪴

I loved the lipstick plants and the wayetti. I have a big one but that would have made a nice backup plant.

I watch these when I don't have the money or time to buy a new plant 😂 I have a teddy bear vine that has bloomed a few times in my East facing window.

Tradescantia 'baby bunny bellies' are extremely easy to care for!

I had a teddy bear for almost 5 years b4 it died off. Was very easy care.

I always shop the dead and dying plants. They will live, or I will have a nice pot.

South Carolina resident here and my Walmart still has Christmas clearance 😭 not a single plant in sight yet

If the twister lipstick plant is one of your favorites. Maybe you can tell me how to get mine green again. It has been blooming in a filtered sun southern window for six months, so seems happy blooming all the time, but it has a tinge of yellow and not all of it is yellow.( like 30% yellowed ). How do I get it to green up again? (or do I cut off the yellowed stems because it will not green up again? ).I water when meter says it’s dry. I check every day…Moved it 2 weeks ago to the other side of my bay window, which is more filtered sun.

A question to you. Now when you see the mealies on toe plants that was definitely noticeable, do you tell a worker about the issue so it dont spread? Wondering as I was a plant merchandiser and often wondered.

Just found several ring of fire philo at my local Lowes. Be on the lookout

I found a huge Hoya wayetii at Home Depot and a full lemon lime maranta last week. Fresh shipment, drenched in water. I took them out of their pots and they still aren’t dry. 😂😭

a Jacklyn being at a big box store kills me 😂 I live in tokyo, and the prices on those NEVER go down here!

There are many others who do these shopping videos, while several do a good job at this sort of video, YOU are the best! Another great video, keep up the good work. 😊

The Teddy Bear Vines are actually not tradescantias. It’s a Cyanotis beddomei. Very similar to tradescantias though. There is the Baby Bunny Bellies which is the fuzzy tradescantias, scientific name Tradescantia chrysophylla. BTW, did you see Costa Farms Trending Tropicals for 2024? They have Epipremnum Pinnatum Albo. I saw one YTber found one already at her local big box store.

It really varies. I’ve had a lot of good experiences with big box plants, but I do see pests from time to time. But to be honest, I see pests at specialty plant shops too. That’s why it’s so important to examine the plant before you purchase no matter where we shop. 🪴
