Huge Headache: Honda Magna Flip Project Update!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Today we're doing an update on the KZread Moto Flip Project. I decided to check out a 1997 Honda Magna as the third motorcycle of the series. The bike was a bit rough cosmetically but ran super solid. Stay tuned to see how much I paid for it, how much profit we made, and all the drama that came along with this flip.

Great flip. I love the different bikes you get. Can't wait to see your dream bike.
Man you are wizard at knowing what other bike brand's that you can buy low and sell at a fair price, sweet video progress on the project!
My first bike was. 82 V45 Magna. Loved it. I have my sights on a 83 that needs some work but I want to add one to my lineup.
I owned one and loved it. Was a great bike.
These are great bikes, I had a new one in 1994. But now I have a 1983 Honda Magna V65 (1100). One of the best bikes I've ever had bar none! The 1983 Magna being such a pleasure and a blast at the same time goes to your point about some of these cruisers just not really getting any better, even over the course of 30 years. Honda has released some nice looking new cruisers like the Fury and the 1100cc Rebel. But neither can touch the 1983 V65 Magna in performance.
Took a little longer but great job on the flip! I've had 3 Magnas and the are great bikes! They are based off the interceptor and Sabre and typical Honda reliability. That wobble isn't normal though, could have been bearings and or shock bushings.
If im not mistaken i believe they have some dope places out there you can rent motorcycles. Maybe look into and see if they have some exotic bikes you can take for a spin. Loving the series the buying and selling is what initially brought me here glad your doing more. Keep up the good work
That is a cool bike, I’ve seen some builds that I would love to tackle. Bobber builds.
I agree with you about the VMAX. I wanted a vmax back in 1996. I ended up buying a '94 Magna and never regretted it. I have it stored but it's in excellent shape and I have no plans to ever sell it.
Sweet you got this dude
Rebel 1100 (dct?) dream bike here you come!
My stepmom had a 1996 Honda Magna (her and I both ended up learning how to ride on that bike, I was 14 when my dad taught me) when I was in high school, and I ended up getting my endorsement at 16 and riding it and actually tried to get her to sell it to me because I loved it so much. She never did sell it to me until about 3 days ago and I’ll never look back. This bike has so much sentimental value to me.
I'm curious what bike you're going to get a the end, the "goal" bike.
Almost bought one of these while I was living in Phoenix. Guy was asking only $1200 if I remember right. Wish I would've pulled the trigger on it. I've heard they're pretty fun bikes.
I really enjoy your post you seem to be a really cool guy Good luck in your endeavours lol Keep us posted H D Neil AKA the Krok

I don't think I would ever buy a V-twin cruiser, but I could see myself having fun on a bike like that.

We imagine the lower the value of the bike you're trying to sell, the greater the number of flakes to potentially deal with. That's a bummer he had you tied up for all that precious time. Thanks for posting even while you're working out of town! We'll see you on the next one... 👨👩👧 ❤ -David, Elizabeth, and little Jessica

Yeah, $3k seems to strike just the right balance from my experience. 💯👌
I had a 97 Honda Magna for a bit. A great bike for one person. It had a lot of top end. It had no low end torque and the passenger pegs were at an awkward position because of the exhaust. Since my wife showed interest in riding with me I got a different bike. I always wanted a Magna and I had one for a few years. I did miss it for a bit, now my riding style has changed and years later I don't miss it at all.

I bought a 94 Honda magna that's been worked and it's got a Harley-Davidson trike rear end from the '60s this thing goes good real good custom exhaust I paid two grand for it I like the bike it's a lot of fun I can pull a front end right up real quick it's a project I'm going to finish
Man I would have loved to have bought that bike for that much, what a steal for a magna
Won a 2002 in an auction for $800. Didn’t get the story on it until I picked it up. Some drunk guy laid it over running from the cops. Started up fine, sounded good, but had some rough cosmetic issues. Perfect bobber bike so I started cutting. Honestly love the bike. Everything besides the sound!
@RollinwithRoland

The sound grows on you at 9000RPM taking most every other cruiser to Gapplebee's, and that is in it's stock form... XD
Jon ... how does it work in AZ with buying and selling? In PA you have to basically transfer title and pay fees and taxes. This particular sale would cost around $200+. It's also a pain because it could take up to to two weeks for the title.
Nice! Frustrating it took so long but great flip considering you didn’t have to put anything into it.
You would have liked it more with the 15 tooth front sprocket. Gives it a nice low end punch. Also thats prolly the original neck bearing. Prolly why its wobbling
3 to 4 weeks ! Homeboy was saving up. Away on a biz trip. Time to catch up on some sleep

I really not sure you should be comparing the 750 v4 honda with any of the v max bikes, but that said, my second bike was a honda v-4 750 which was quick, and vibration free engine. It could push up to 130 on flat ground, but it was driveshaft too (I noticed you didn't talk about it drivetrain).
Where did you get that leather thing on the top of the fuel tank?
I had a Honda Magna 700 which was extremely fast and ran great......when it ran. It was a huge money pit and in spite of being a Honda motorcycle which I've owned several, it was constantly breaking. Big design problems with engine bearings, location of fuel pump, cooling issues and other things.
I love the Magna
So, when you’re flipping these bikes, do you have to do anything paperwork wise for titles and all that? I want to get into flipping bikes but need to figure out the logistics
@Idontbeliveanythingyousay

That's what I wonder. In PA this would be a huge hassle
Both V4’s Honda Magna: nice around town cruiser, sparkles with jetting and exhaust tweaks Yamaha VMax: back alley brawler, stop light gran prix winner
@seanbutler2291
2 жыл бұрын
The only thing your winning with the Max is the straight away. Put any amount of turns in and i guarantee the magna will scream on by the vmax and gap it. I own both literally the same years of magna and max he had. The magna still does low 12s stock out of the box.... Thats a bit more than sparkly.
I got an 01 magna this summer. Put 4k miles on it. Probably never getting another bike
sweet bike
Wish I could get one of those magnas
What ramps do you recommend
I bought mine for 750 bucks with a rusted gas tank on the top. Installed a new air filter, cleaned the carbs, bought another gas tank, polished the hand controls. Overall, I am still under a thousand bucks for it. Yes, the shape is not great, but it runs well.
The bike that compared with the Vmax was the 80's V65 Magna. It was the 1100cc version.
Old school heads really luv the Honda Magna. A guy at my gym had a low side accident on one scraping himself up pretty bad but he had a big smile on his face whenever he talked about it. I'm curious on how many cc's these came in, I pulled up at a thrift store a week ago that had one and it looked so small in person.

@@i94yeh2p yeah the v star is bigger, nice too. Dont let size out you off though, if you like a particular bike enough - wont take long to get used too. I have a marauder myself, love cruisers lol
I was selling a Bobcat (skid steer) had a deposit. Waited, the guy didn't come thru. He said he couldn't come up with the rest. I gave him his money back. He was surprised but happy, I knew the Bobcat would sell easy. Anyway, turns out the guy was a new local COP and he pulled me over in my Mustang: 95 mph in a 55mph zone. Big ticket. He remembered me, no ticket, now we're even!
I like the paint on that Magna. You should have put 1 bike in the back of your truck to ride while you're off work. Unless you're planning on buying 1 up there to bring back. ??? Hmm?
Do you consider the V ROD part of the muscle bike group?

Maybe. But even the 750 Honda magna blows away big 1800cc v-twins. Now in 1983 Honda made a non de-tuned 1100cc v4 magna. It was a racing engine and they de-tuned it in later years, but not the 1983
I had a 2003 vf750 magna.... Many a Harley got their asses handed to them by that little v4....... Best cruiser bruiser for the price... Just upgrade the rear suspension and its good2go
I wish Honda would bring the Magna back. They were pretty incredible bikes, especially with the technology available today. That would be a sweet bike. Sorry about the time, but glad you got it sold.
I want one

Something is wrong with that bike. Mine never wobbled, even after crashing it twice.
Yay finally vid about the Magna :D
I own a 99 Magna VF750CD glad you liked it. Ill never sell mine. I wipe the floor with most cruisers. It sounds awful in the video no pun intended. I removed baffles and jetted mine. Without the baffles it sounds mean as fuck.
Get those discs sorted dudroid🤫
I am dying to know what you think of the v65 Magna. I had a 1982 v45 Magna and it was. A. Weapon! The v45 (750) spanks a lot of modern bikes, I can't imagine what the v65 does.
Exactly what headache?? Misleading initial comment to get my attention. There was no problem at all with the bike.
At least you got rid of it.
Damn. You need to wait til I have money! Lol, like I’ll have any money for a while! That view reminds me of what happened a few years ago. Scary stuff, but beautiful when things are for folk! As for the Magna, will it do well on the highway?
I loved my 2000 Magna, it was my second bike. They are fast and handle great. I wanted a bigger cruiser, went to a 2001 Roadstar, now I got a 2003 Goldwing but I still miss the Magna for sure.
When people talk about the V-Max and Magna, they mean the V-65 1100cc Magna, not the V-45 750cc Magna. Pick up a V-65 and do a review. I'd like to know your thoughts on it.
maybe V4 ducati naked is the endgame ?
2500 95 magna with 36k miles ???
Nice come up bro, just curious what do you do for work where you are out in Vegas?
ive got a 99 honda magna. eats everything in its class.
Speed wobble is caused by that stupid windshield
Magna has VFR sportbike engine on cruiser bike minus quality breaks. Can't believe Honda cheapen out with drum break in the back and single break at front. It has heart of a sportbike but mediocre components that goes for suspension as well.
Why stop just cause you are in Vegas? You should be looking for bikes out there to flip!

I would but I've been swinging 60-72 hrs/wk working. I basically eat, sleep, work. But won't be forever. 💯👌
You could have gone for 3k tbh a magna with less than 50 k miles is rare
Bought it with the worst NEW tires money can buy for it, rides like crap... anyone surprised? Throw some Shinko Tourmasters on it and drag Jardine forward control hard parts like me. XD
Jon wtf do you do for work man I’m dying to know!
I've ridden motorcycles my whole life I've had S and S I've had ultima motors And Harley Davidson I have a 2003 Honda magna that's been chopped out And I must say V twins are pigs It might sound cool But it has no power whatsoever And I would never go back to A v twin I've never had a Harley Davidson that could stay up with my magna not even close

I like you and I love this channel man, but this flip thing kinda sucks IMO. I mean, if you by a bike and fix it, at least you ad value to it. This is just making used bikes more expensive for no reason. The guy who bought it from you probably just wanted a magna to ride it and you made it more expensive for him.

Not necessarily. I still sell most of my bikes below market value. Difference most of the time is marketing. Most of the deals I get come down to a lack of proper marketing.
