HUGE CRASH AT KNOCKHILL! Caterham Academy Championship 2021

It's finally time to talk more about it! The 2021 Caterham Academy heads to Knockhill in Scotland for the 3rd round of the 2021 championship, and it's pressure on for Paul to get some championship points!
From avoid a crash in final practice, Paul managed to qualify 4th for race 1, but the main dram came on day two, in race 2! Paul and Tiff review the footage of the race afterwards, from Paul's amazing start that got him into the lead for the first corner. Sadly, a few corners later Paul gave a rather embarrassing hand gesture! Can you spot it?
Later in the race, Paul was back in 5th position and trying to work with other drivers to give each other the slip stream to catch up with the leading drivers. Then, on lap 8, Paul has a brief coming together with fellow driver Marc Jones, which Marc didn't like very much!
On lap 14, disaster struck when another driver had a tank slapper, hitting another driver who ultimately came to collect Paul and almost t-bone the Lovecars Caterham at 65MPH and hitting 4G in the impact. It shows how strong the Caterham cars though, as Paul was able to try and drive on, and walked away from this incident! Sadly though, the Lovecars Caterham couldn't continue.

It’s been 10 years since i drove Knockhill in my Clio 197 Cup.Loved this video,well done Paul that was some great racing.Need more Tiff on this channel

It's odd how the accident happened to the left and Paul went right to avoid it, yet, low an behold a car appears almost out of nowhere heading in the opposite direction. Murphy's Law in action. Better luck next time Paul. I see a podium in your future.
What was the cost / damage to the cars, very interested the academy but not if a little bump is going to cost a fortune to fix

Well, it was a great race until the crash! Is there any type of insurance offered for that series, or does everything come out of the driver's pocket?

shocking move at the hairpin. i assume you apologised. how much did you spend on repairs? grid looks like its full of people who are not bothered about the cost.
Will we see a vid on the car damage and repair costs etc? I'd like to see that. Oh, don't be so hard Tiff.

There's a few images on our Instagram, but the car is already repaired! Caterham did a fantastic job of putting it back together!🙌 Ready for Silverstone! 💪

@@lovecarsTV How much did it cost?? Be interested to know, this would be my main concern £30k for the car and championship but then how much more for repair costs...

Brilliant racing by the academy groups. Looking forward to more fireworks this weekend at Silverstone. Hope all involved got their cars repaired in time

Great race you would have gotten the 2nd place if you would have gone thru, the accident scene with out impact 👦🏻👍🏻🏎🏁

It was a great race. That crash ruined everything.
I've been watching a bunch of Academy video's as I'd like to do it - Honestly this video puts me off. Weaving all over the place to defend, lunging way late up the inside when the corner wasn't yours and running into people. Looks like Bumper Cars

look at the other caterham series's. there are less open chequebook racers.
Damn that intro was hard to watch!

@@lovecarsTV I bet, glad you came away with only a few bumps and bruises! I haven’t had any racing incidents that severe but know from others on track they are no fun. Hope you got it repaired and back into shape!
