That vehicle blocking the intersection just because she wanted to turn left so she wouldn’t pull up should have been given a series of tickets. But the bystander that moved the cone should get a big thanks. Of course the FD and PD are used to getting through anyway they can. Great job to them.

To avoid confusion the Incident Command System has one resource called a "tanker" and only one, that is an air tanker. The ground based trucks that carry water are called "water tenders." Other tenders include "fuel tenders," "dozer tenders," and "helicopter tenders." There are two types of water tenders, support water tenders have a driver and provide water directly to engines or to portable tanks. A tactical water tender has the driver plus one person and has hose on board so it can be used similar to an engine, although it doesn't carry the wide variety of tools engines have.

Yeah it was really difficult for crews too due to how steep it was, most of it could only be fought from the air. The LAFD do a great job! :)

That putz in the black Audi ,was issued a $1,000 fine. Should've been $1,000 for every fire vehicle ,he blocked.

Small story time from me, i was once out with my family celebrating my sisters b-day and when it was getting dark, we decided to go home cause we were all pretty much tired and once we got really close to our neighborhood, we just saw a whole bunch of firefighters responding to this one specific area and it was really close to where we live so we got kind of concerned. Once we entered our neighborhood we just saw a whole bunch of firetrucks in my neighborhood getting ready to leave and since we got curious on what happened, we asked our neighborhood and they said that one of my friends attic fan burst and there was smoke coming out from their house and there had to be police called. Spoopy moment

During summer in CA, you see them mobbing down the highway 5-7 at a time.

What a stubborn driver! You mean he didn't realize he was impeding the fire apparatus from getting through?! I suppose he thought their was enough room for the big ladder trucks etc .To get through! Hope he got a ticket for impeding emergency vehicle's! By the way I really like that Peterbuilt tanker!

There's quite a few across the US as water tankers/tenders/foam units and some as engines or other rigs with Vol. FDs but no they're not common. ;)

@Banadit that depends where you live. Many departments call them tankers still. As an example if you listen to dispatch in the suburbs of Chicago you will here both. Some departments call them tenders some call them tanker. You will here town a tanker 101, town b tender 110 in the same dispatch. In this case I believe LA calls them tenders, but across the country it just depends where you are located.

No emergency vehicle operations course give us the right to plow through cars and trucks. In fact, we are strictly told not to. Comments such as yours are quite ignorant.

oh while we're at it, lets have a zero tolerace policy for *ALL* traffic laws broken, that would really solve the bad driver issue then! unbelieveable.. the fine will put that person into a life of prostitution, because thats what it takes to pay 1000 bucks plus court costs and lawyer fees in the city of los angeles.

i would blame traffic officers, they clearly couldn't manage him. Not to mention blocking 3 lanes right after the blocked intersection forcing fire engines to go into oncoming traffic

Thanks! Yeah was quite the convoy. Yup I was crossing the Pacific Coast Highway as it was clear but I stopped to wait for the guy in the black Audi - then he stopped, so I stopped thinking he'd go forwards. But because he had stopped for too long I was worried I'd miss the video so I just had to stop and film there lol.

That Truck is Moving

Am I missing something? The Firetrucks were able to get through. The gap in the traffic looked pretty big to me. And I completely agree you're not supposed to obstruct an emergency vehicle, but the cops looked like they were directing traffic. I don't know, maybe the laws are stricter over there than here in Chicago. I've been in a similar situation, but if you have nowhere to go meaning both left and right lanes are blocked, you stay in place because you don't have a choice unless the cars in front of you start to move.

WOW COOL CATCH !!!!.WHILE CALIF BURNED SO DID MOST OF BRITISH COLUMBIA,CANADA. normally our forest firefighters can help each other.but sadly this year was the worst ever here in bc, even the fds n pds went north 2 help out.my city new westminster even gave a native town an older engine just retired here.our pd ran the local tim horton's coffee shop most of the summer to help out on the anaham lake reserve town.now the native band wants our 2 cities to be sisters.

Thanks! Yeah I know right this year's wildfire season was very severe right up the west coast. Whilst buffing in LA I occasionally watched the news on the TV and saw the reports from BC! It's good that the services helped each other out as much as possible - it's getting more and more stressful for them as the strain increases. Good job on the PD for running the coffee shop, much respect! Should be sisters as a mark of respect and thanks!

for firefighters in Indonesia basically in every district city already exists, but not all in sub-district city including where I have a fleet like yours. the fire in my place until now has happened 15 times, and only in februari 2017 yesterday got the help of 1 unit of fire pump machine of Tohatsu brand series VC82ASE from government. and since the machine we received this year alone has been three times to help put out fires amid the limitations of tools and equipment. we joined in a group of fire fighting volunteers and was formed on November 14, 2017 ago. Glad and proud it can help people affected by fire accident.
