Outlander is my absolute favorite! So glad you are beginning the journey into the Outlander series!! You will love it. It is so well written and so addictive.

I always love the fact how regan presents and recommends books which are Less or been never heard before. That's the main thing that excites me whenever she posts any recommendations or hauls

Regan! This will probably get drowned under the comments section but if you loved tessa dare and the wallflower wager, I'd highly recommend Love In The Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas. It has the same theme, animals, voluntary spinsterhood, being part of a friend group, each of them eventually meeting their match. Another recommended author for me is Meredith Duran for balancing story, chemistry and thrill. Julia Quinn is my best pick for some witty banter and a whole lot of laughs.

The first Outlander book is VERY romance based. The second is very politically based. In my opinion, the third book is where the series really takes off. Keep on reading if you are kind of "meh" about the first book.

You will LOVE Outlander!! I enjoy many genres, but this historical romance is AMAZING! The entire series is great! I LOVED the audiobooks and am "patiently" waiting for the next book in the series! 🤗😊

These are some AWESOME book suggestions! I love love LOVE your book recs and reading suggestions. With all this extra time on our hands lately, we might as well look into some great new reads. In my own book talks, I personally love reading some engaging excerpts and giving a bit of info about who the characters are and how the plot caught my interest. Keep up the great work!

marie stella i actually seriously disliked the first book. you find out who did too soon (because a character mentioned it and it made perfect sense after that) and it felt like such a cop out. i thought the relationships were also very tropey and that the mental illness in the book wasn’t really done well. but idk that’s just me !

In the end I thought it was alright anyway bc of the same reason - the rushed flow of the story - which walked me through the whole idea of the story. Its not a really great concept, bc it had less details, but overall I think its okay! Idk if I should read the 2nd one tho!

I liked the first one, didn't like it's sequel. But I liked Two Can Keep a Secret.

I picked Beach Reads for my pick this month it sounds great!! Outlander is definitely a very romantic tale but it’s probably one of the most epic adventure packed tales as well. It’s long but I loved every second of it. I was never bored ☺️ if you want to try more romances is definitely suggest The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang and the Hating Game by Sally Thorne! Both light romantic reads 💕

Library of Legends was my first Historical Fiction read and I was in tears by the end. It was FANTASTIC.

I've recently read The Guest List and it was fantastic. The storyline is on point and suspenseful, a unique yet varied group of characters and the setting was amazing. I hope you enjoy it!

I read the first OUTLANDER book and LOVED it... I then watched the first season of the series and it pretty much followed the book so I decided to just watch the rest of the series instead of investing the time to read the whole series. Plus, I LOVE former fashion model Caitriona Balfe who plays Claire... She is quite FABULOUS! The series is really well done.

I feel like you would like the stalking Jack the Ripper series too! The first book is awesome and they get more romancey as the series goes on and Thomas cresswell is the ULTIMATE book boyfriend (aside from Jamie in outlander 😉)

I LOVED Beach Read! It is one of my favorite books I've read so far this year! It made me laugh, and yet was perfectly sentimental. Also, The Guest List was great, but kind of an intense (scary) read. I really enjoyed it, but be aware that it is a lot to take in at times!

I am SO EXCITED for Library of Legends and Beach Reads -- I just got those from BOTM myself!! Not usually a WWII fan, but that one really caught my attention and I think it's almost time for my annual "read weirdly specific niche WWII books" month, haha. I still hit up the bookstore that I work at (though I'm temporarily not working there until businesses are allowed to have people in there again) and buy as many books as I can from there.

The whole Outlander series is my favorite. The second books is very about politics and the adventure gets way more interesting! Honestly, the show is basically the same in my opinion. The chemistry is better between two characters is better in the books, as books do, but the show was still amazing.

There’s plenty of exposition in the Outlander series so I think you’ll really like it.

I picked up the Stormlight Archive books and Trail of Lightning for delivery!

For anyone who enjoyed Station Eleven, and doesn't already know, Emily St John Mandel has written 3 other books as well! I didn't enjoy them as much personally but others might! :)

@Marina Barsoum it's been a while since I've read it but the one thing I would say about Emily St John Mandel is that I'm not a fan of the way that she finishes books! And that's across multiple that I've read! I'm often more engaged in the beginning than the end! So if it's not gripping you by part 1, I might not bother with the rest! But I could be alone in this opinion so you could always finish it and let me know what you think!

I'm sure you've already received this recommendation, but if you're interested in more modern romance, definitely check out Red, White and Royal Blue. It is just a fabulous, fun, escapist rom-com story that put a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it. (Plus, the audiobook is great!) It's easily gonna be one of my top reads of 2020.

The Guest List is so good! Defenitely check out The Hunting Party by the same author, same concept!

I can see THE WAY OF KINGS, WORDS OF RADIANCE and OATHBRINGER on the shelf in the background. So iconic. I'm currently reading THE LORD OF THE RINGS and I'm halfway in THE TWO TOWERS. It's a slow read but I'm ok with that.

The author of Master of Sorrows is a huge fan of David Eddings’ Belgariad series, which is one of my all time favorites. I bought it when I was in London and I’m excited to get to it. Also, not sure if anyone’s said, but the ‘a’ in ‘harrowing’ is pronounced like the ‘e’ in heroine. 😊

I've been listening to the outlander audiobooks for a couple of years, usually I can't do this while reading a million other books but it's quite fun and easy to do with outlander 😊 also I'm scottish, and the series doesn't have quite as many terrible stereotypes as others 😂
