Herpetologist here. Mr. Cee is exactly right. Black Rat Snakes are not only 100% harmless to humans, but highly beneficial, since they eat rodents. Please educate the lady whose voice is in the background of this video, so she doesn't do anything foolish.

I left it alone and I just moved out because the house is old.

Rat and King snakes are welcome on my property any day!

Ur probably unaware but 99% of snakes n the USA r harmless, and just about all will eat rodents, some r even capable of eating venomous snakes like rattlesnakes which I would assume r not welcome around ur property at any time

Here’s the full story: The lady in the background is named Brenda tells me to come over and here, long and belong is this black snake that is here by drinking water from the bird bath thingy if you all wanted to find the pictures of it drinking water it’s in the community section from my KZread channel. I should have done a full video of it drinking and slithering around. Oh well 🤷. I think it’s here for the rodents and the birds because we left the expired bread by leaving the crumbs on the deck.

I use to keep them as pets. Some of them were just down right mean they don’t like people to much. They’re also very good at escaping

Good to know. They are sneaky slithery.

Rarely if ever bite, and when they do they usually do not draw blood. Good pets if you can get them to eat in captivity.
