Not to mention a lot of fish tail flipping as they lose lake water!

The best way to control beavers is to dig a channel through the dam. Then place a perforated metal culvert in the channel extending maybe 20 feet in front and behind the dam. The beavers cannot hear the running water and will not try to plug up the culvert !! Try it, it works great !!

It's all about the sound to them, researchers played the sound of running water through a speaker, the beavers piled wood on the speaker, pretty crazy.

@@AFHProjects It was about 100 years ago I think, these guys from England, I think the royal society, went to Canada to study the beaver, they were convinced beavers were the smartest animals in the world, because of how well they built, and chose the locations for their damns, they were so disappointed when they figured out the beavers weren't that smart, it's all instinct. You need to find an old CD boom box, then make as long a disc as possible of flowing water, I'd love to see it.

Beavers are great from an environmental perspective in that they help control the flow of water and prevent flooding

They can in certain circumstances but not when they flood farm fields and roads because the are overpopulated in Lithuania. The 1960s reintroduction of the beavers has been way too successful with limited predators now and the Soviet construction of the drainage systems under fields and the drainage canals.

Forget the smaller, Tonka version of this you used to play with when you were younger, THAT is the ultimate man toy!

Ever wonder that they guys way down stream think when that water comes down?! 😳 lol

I’ve flooded a part of my town from destroying beaver dams 🤣🤣🤣🤣a few friends and I removed a section and went back to the next day to finish it off only to return to a flood.

That beaver sure knows how to use an excavator. Never knew they could operate heavy machinery

It is kind of amazing what fairly small rodents are capable of doing. Beavers never cease to amaze me at how much damage (or beautification) they can achieve with just their teeth and their flat tails. I have a beaver pond that abuts my property that has been there at least 25 or more years. The fact that their dam has lasted as long as it has is mind blowing TBH.

I say, because there is beaver dams everywhere. If you look out the window you will see fighting beavers, if you walk late evening you will see beavers. All the shores are dug out so...

Every tree that ends up in a flooded area b/c of a beavers dam dies; yup sounds wonderful.

People always exclaim about how wonderful a beaver's dam building skills are, and how wonderful the wet lands they create, are... Nobody talks about the destruction they do. When a beaver clear-cuts land, nothing grows back. Where are the anti-logging protesters?

Now that's one hell of a straight truck.

The key to removing any beaver dam is to remove as much mud as possible from the upstream side. Any beaver will tell you that the mud is the cement and the sticks, branches, logs, grass .. etc is just the rebar of the dam.

Как красиво, Я бы всё это зачистила, высушила болото всё по хозяйски, весь сухостой и ненужные деревья срезать, почистить дно может и углубить немного. Весь берег и всё убрать, пустить опять воду, красивое озеро было-бы, и малёк запустить вот ещё и рыбалка с отдыхом. Ручушку тоже не мешало бы убрать берега подкорректировать, да и вообще нужно любить природу.!!

Instead of wood putting in the dam now they put rocks and minerals. Now good luck removing that one buddy

This is the best of all the Beaver Dam removal vids I have watched on KZread. Lots of different point of view shots. Tells the story! Well done. I would add maybe a couple of time-lapses of the pond as it emptied. But overall... nice job.

I live near Beaver Dam WI. It's what they say around here.

The beavers will just build it back and the process will start all over again.

Excavators and bulldozer should unite and fight against criminal beavers. The beavers should pay with their money for damage the have caused.

I have a golf course near my home and a beaver has moved in to one of the water hazards and built a lodge. The beaver is trying to dam the thing up by clogging the drain with various pieces of trash left on the course by golfers. The golf course employees must remove the stuff regularely, but they can't remove the beaver lodge, because they are a protected animal. I'm rooting for the beaver, obviously.

Although I have been busy as a Beaver in a Spring Flood nothing like this..,LOL !

Always interesting to see what it looks like with the water gone.
