Huge Antique Screwdriver Restoration - Homemade one-of-a-kind Screwdriver

This huge homemade screwdriver was found in the dirt in an Old Barn. the screwdriver appears to be made out of an old file. the handle on the screwdriver was taped with old cloth electric tape. Underneath of the tape the handle was broken into several pieces. the end of the handle was crushed from being pounded on with a hammer or mallet. rather than make a new handle I decided to salvage as much of the old one as possible to keep with the authenticity of this unique and one-of-a-kind screwdriver. The first thing I did was remove all of the tape. Then I took all of the salvageable pieces of the handle then glued and clamped it back together. once the clamps where removed i cut the crushed part off of the end of the handle and made a new piece out of an old chunk of wood that was salvaged from the Coney Island Boardwalk. the wood from the Boardwalk was salvaged after a storm they destroyed a section of the boardwalk. it is some very extremely hard exotic wood. I was told it was Brazilian walnut but cannot be sure.

I've a screwdriver of similar size I inherited from my grandfather. He often told people he used it for watch repairs.

Thanks I really appreciate this comment. You would be surprised at some of the negative comments I get because people expect to see you get rid of all of the old parts that are damaged and replace them with new ones. I believe that that handle on that screwdriver tells the story of its life. My repair and addition is a new page in that story
