I love that Adam dedicated the movie to his movie son Cameron Boyce who he worked with on Grown Ups. He was meant to be in the movie but passed away a few days before filming.

Last Action Hero is such a fascinating, sometimes clever, occasionally awful experience. I like a lot of stuff in it but it's so crazily uneven and too poorly paced. Charles Dance is fantastic in it. I remember seeing this in the theater in 93 and couldn't even understand big chunks of dialogue. The production did then-high tech digital sound stuff that most theaters weren't equipped for, and many audiences just got really muffled sound quality! The many behind the scenes disasters are legend.

I found it really cool that it was dedicated to Cameron Boyce at the end and that there were so many of his Disney family in here along with Noah Scnapp. It was kinda weird when they made the type of jokes that were in the movie though. The Shaq part was pretty funny too. I also found the lesson at the the end to be cool. It isn’t an Oscar winner but I would recommend watching it. It’s just a fun Halloween movie

Enjoyed it. While not a full-on return to form, it definitely felt more like one of his 90s films than his other recent ones. I’ve always thought his films existed in a sort of weird Sandler-verse. Not just because he brings a lot of the same actors in but because characters appear in multiple films: the “You Can Do It” guy, Chubbs, and more (including one in this film I won’t spoil) Overall was pretty good.

Honestly, themovie started out great. Had me hooked, but then hits a major dull period in the 2nd act, followed by a super cliche ending. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and didnt mind the unecessary character arcs, but was honestly hoping for a more 'supernatural' ending, as opposed to what we got. My suggestion. If you have ever enjoyed an Adam Sandler movie, watxh it. Hes done much worse than this, but also don't expect anything great.

That part of the review felt flat to me too. (Spoiler alert) Once they are revealed as decoys their arch is over, it's simple and organic. Then I really thought Claire Dunphy was a psycho for a moment, the movie took me there because Buscemi and Schneider were harmless, and I appreciate they tried to give her a purpose instead of being just another forced unnecessary straight romantic interest. The "having admiration for a sweet nice guy since first grade turned into maniac obsession" decoy was good idea, it's execution was badly paced though.
