I’ve been using the P30 for about a week now and I’m loving it. It’s fast, has a great feel and is easy to handle, good camera and just a really nice phone to use. There is even a Huawei branded charging case you can get that gives you wireless charging and can also be used with magnetic holders. Worth checking out I think.

I remember last year when I wanted the regular p20 over the p20 pro, but thought it wasn't necessary because they were so many differences (the ips over an oled panel), but this year I think it is worth buying, giving the fact that the similarities are so close. Good video, keep the good work!

hye..i've got one question.why when i watch instagram story the screen is zooming by itself?quite annoying,or all huawei is like that?.

I am really like the fact that you have done a video about the P30 standard. People are always pay attention to the top notch of a series, which explains why there are not many video about the standard variant. I have also had a P30 since July 1st, so here are the things I would like to share (some may have been mentioned in this video): 1) The pros: - FLAT SCREEEN, yes! - Size: one of the very few phones out there that has what I call the "comfortable small size" (I hate big ass phones). There are only a handful of phones (flagship) that have the "golden size" of 5.8", and they are Iphone X(S) and Galaxy S10e; - Design: Fabulous - Performace: Extremely fast and powerful. Opening and closing apps, multi-tasking are smooth and seemingly without noticable delay; - Camera: Produces sharp and detailed pictures, great zoom (5x is already more than enough, why the heck do people need 10x? To see aliens on Mars?); - Battery: Life is good. Charging time is OK; - Connection: Wifi and 4G work very well. Downloading apps, watching videos are effortless; 2) The cons: - Resistance: Only IP53; - Screen protection: Not clear which type of Gorilla glass is used; - EMUI 9.0: Clunky. The features are lacking or not friendly enough (cannot auto cluster icons; auto brightness adjustment is... auto turned on after a reboot); - Speaker: Mono; - Fingerprint sensor: A bit laggy; Hope that Huawei could do something to improve their products.

My reason why I´m most likely pulling the trigger on the standard P30 version is the 3,5mm jack....I actually can´t believe they don´t put it on modern smartphones very often....I feel like for the purposes of phone, photography, video and music with my Sennheiser headphones - in this price range, it´s maybe my only option

I just got the regular P30 today. I LOVE IT! I have never looked for big and curved screen phone. It's a PHONE for Christ's sake, not a Tab, or a hybrid in any case. If a brand (phone manufacturer) starts releasing their flagship series, I will always choose the regular (or the smallest one). Don't know why people get so crazy about the big ones.

Congrats on the 100k🎉 Scrolling stutters in Huawei happen in Google app, KZread, Chrome, maps Huawei just seems to not be able to optimize Google apps

Then comparison with the S10e makes sense if you are only comparing to 2019 models, but in terms of price you can buy an unlocked Note 9 for about the same price. I think you should keep in mind comparisons with slightly older models that can compete with the choice being reviewed and that are now of similar prices. BTW, love the channel: subscribed!

Dust and water resistant so no anxiety there when I'm working in the rain. Great camera, reasonable performance and battery life. Looking forward to collecting it! It's to do with your power saving normally if not go to display and brightness there is normally a along the lines of 'automatic brightness'

That's not the dimming issue he's talking about, Huawei doesn't just allow you full manual control of brightness, just like China doesn't give them full control 🤣🤣🤣

The P30 is still on the market. Is it too late to get it? I just want a good phone and use youtube and Facebook. It has to have a good camera. The premium feel is a plus. I do not care about wireless charging.

The mi9 is much faster compared to the p30 but the only downside is its average battery life and no headphone jack compared to the p30

I have a Huawei P30 Pro and love it. Much better camera than on my Note10+ 😃

Despite what's going on with Hauwei & the USA... I'd still get one in the UK 😊

I think one main factor to differentiate a flagship from upper midranges is the IP68 water an dust proof, and that is a big advantage for the s10 e over p30.

I agree, the fact that it is IP68 was the reason i went for the Pro version. No need to be careful on rainy days or water accidents :)

I don't see why that is a big advantage? It's nice to have IP68 over IP53, but personally i've never had any issues with that. I have used my Huawei P20 Lite for more than a year, and i have been out many times in the rain without any problems. Of course i don't stay out in pouring rain and use my phone, but who does that anyway. The Huawei P20 Lite can handle a little rain, and it's not even IP53 or anything. I've had a couple of accidents with a glass of water spiling besides and on the phone, while it was lying on a table, and it is still working fine. I can name alot of specs which i find more important than IP68 over IP53. For me 3.5 mm jack is vital. Not many flagship's have that.

@@TheNitpicker What do u mean by "weak". Sound quality, or just build quility (compared to others). I have a Huawei P20 Lite, and i have listened to alot of music, movies and video, and it's just fine. Never had any issues, and the sound is good. I'm not an expert, but a can't hear any differences.

The speaker placement using the USB C on Mate 20 Pro is poor implementation as well as the in glass fingerprint sensor placement. Second the camera is not as good on the Mate 20. The P30 is sufficient for speaker sound loudness but honestly all cell phone speakers do not sound extraodinary by any means, some are just louder than others in my opinion. I think the P30 Pro is a better buy , the Mate 20 Pro is a real solid device and I struggled on which device I upgraded to today, the P30 Pro or the Mate 20 Pro. I chose the P30 Pro for a slight premium more. I plan to sleep on it overnight as I did like the Mate 20's ergonomics and the higher res but I am also attracted to better battery life.

By the way, it has an OLED display rather than an AMOLED so always on display might not be a good idea if you want to use it for a long time.

You're aware OLED and AMOLED are basically the same thing? Samsung just calls theirs AMOLED, they both have the same strengths and weaknesses...

@@NekroAresu I felt the same way till I got a Galaxy S8+. The screen never affected me negatively. It all comes down to choice my friend. I'm sure you'll enjoy any one of the two. Best of luck.

The only missing feature on this phone is dust resistance and wireless charging other than that this is the best phone nice fast charging great camera. Everything about this phone is great but i would have wished it had a curved screen.

actually the reason why p30 pro is expensive because of kirin 980 procesor and the camera... the regular p30 is have kirin 710 chilset built for midrange phone.... its cleary the p30 pro is expensive because of specification because of her 7nanometer inside of the chip....

@@TheNitpickerExample my grandparents and parents have issues with small print so I assume that population would benefit from larger display, then you have millennials that practically live on their devices to watch KZread to Netflix's etc which is better on a larger display. My kids all opted for larger displays. But if it's just for phone calls, then of course a smaller device.

why would i need bigger phone. it harder to carry around.... cant use by one hand, easier to slip, . not to mention the screen has lower dpi which make worse screen to enjoy multimedia.

Hi, vielen lieben dank fuer deine nicen reviews. Ich habe jedoch ein problem mit dem display und es bereits bei 3 geraeten entdecken koennen. Vielleicht kannst du mir helfen es zu verstehen, da es mir bis jetzt niemand erklaeren konnte. Das OLED display hatte bei meinem ersten p30 deutliche macken. Komplett im dunklen (lesen im bett - alles dunkel) hat bei mir einen aehnlichen effekt wie bei LCDs mit starkem backlight bleeding fuer nicht komplett schwarze dark themes (wie bspw. in google chrome) verursacht. Ich konnte das ganz gut nachvollziehen, indem ich mir ein bild mir einem rgb(0, 30, 0) hintergrund erstellt habe und anschliessend einen kreis mit rgb(0, ca. 40, 0) hineingezeichnet habe. Man konnte deutlich erkennen, dass das display bei 1%-5% brigthness die farben nicht einheitlich anzeigen konnte. Bei meinem erstes device war dies so auffaellig, dass ich das wie bereits erwaehnt beim browsen erkennen konnte. Dieses geraet habe ich dann umgetauscht. Weisst du mit was das zu tun haben koennte? Videomaterial sieht bei OLED tests auf youtube wunderschon aus, schwarz schaltet die leds wie erwartet ab und gibt wunderschoene kontraste. Hast du dafuer eine erklaerung? Wie nennt sich dieses phaenomen? Ich bin mir sicher, dass davon sehr viele gerate betroffen sind. Selbst mein jetztiges p30 hat diesee probleme, jedoch nicht so stark wie mein vorheriges. Tip for sound quality and volume: Disable Dolby Atmos after you plug in a headphone. It is On, by default, and you cannot disable it in speaker mode, but in my experience it reduces the volume and clarity quite alot.

@@benjiize It doesn't go loud. My older Samsung S6 was louder. It's just that if you Disable Dolby Atmos, it gets a bit louder and a bit more clear. It depends on how hard to drive the headphones you want to use are. I use a Sennheiser HD569, which is easy to drive and it gets loud enough, i use it 1 or 2 steps below max. The quality is good. Not "very good", but good.
