Great review Saf, Huawei needs to release an update to fix the 4k 30 fps stabilisation problem it looks terrible, Huawei need to fix this issue before it's released. Apart from that I really want the P20 Pro.

Safdar Abbas I have to admit, Saf is more thorough than most other camera comparisons. But still not perfect. I have yet to see a video that compares these two camera’s capabilities. Saf is only comparing an app on iPhone to an app on a P20 phone. Hes not comparing camera capabilities. DxO mark does the same mistake. iPhone has the most advanced camera in a smartphone, the P20 has the most amount of features in its native camera app. Ive seen Saf compare an HDR photo taken with an android phone to a non HDR photo taken with iPhone And I haven’t seen Saf compare the low light feature of the p20 to Cortex Cam on iPhone. Cortex cam had the features before the p20. So ive been using the P20’s lowlight feature on my iPhone for quite some time now. Many compare the beauty mode or the over saturation mode on Android phones to iPhone’s standard camera mode. Never a fair comparison

The P20 Pro is a mix bag. The lack of 4K stabilisation is a joke to be honest. The selfie is disappointing for such a high res, the pixel 2 is the best for photo selfie legit. 💯

question supersaf. Colours on the p20 pro are they more what you seen as the iphone to me looked like to much contrast made the blacks more black ?. now as a photographer i do use my phone a lot when out and about and have a mate 9 that does nice pictures, the video on the phone means nothing to me as never use it lol, im all about the images.but i post process every image i take on my phone or dslr to get my style of image, so image colour has to be almost correct and in focus a must the rest i do post processing,for me the p20 pro was better whats do you think from what i have said thanks :)

Yeah, the video on the P20pro is certainly lacking. I'd still take it as I do shoot very little video. The night shots are what I'm after and they're insane.

P20 is way over hyped, 1080p lacks detail and the 4K has crap stabilization not even worth using.

So it's clearly proven after watching this video that higher megapixels doesn't give clear and sharp images and video quality of it doesn't have a quality sensor and quality lens🥊

For 4k videos the X is pretty much still the king. It's for pictures that they got dethroned by a few phones. But god damn, I didn't know it was so bad on the P20 Pro after everyone giving acclaims after DXOmark gave it a 109 score.

Maybe read their review to know why? They use all cameras as default. All these youtubers are changing the settings that DxO tested so of course they're gonna get different results. They even said in the presentation that the default mode uses the information of the 40 MP sensor and combines it into a 10 MP picture. 40 MP mode is only useful if you know what you're doing and plan of shooting RAW to edit later. It's called Pro for a reason. If you want a point and shoot just stick with default where all the help and AI is.

Elyx just because they say something that differs from a fanboys biased opinion doesn't mean they're payed to give a better review. Check the comments under their review, what are the chances that none of them actually read it and just looked at the score instead.

Kena Troll Actually it's the opposite of HTC's UltraPixel where the sensor is the same size but the pixels are bigger to compensate which in theory captures more light. Huawei's P20 Pro is almost the same as the Lumia 1020 where it uses a massive sensor to get as much information as possible (oversampling) and then combines it all in a smaller resolution increasing the sharpness and detail. Considering the Lumia 1020 is so old I'm surprised no one tried to create something similar until now. *Edit:* Wait... your name is familiar. Aren't you the guy that said they had a lagging Mate 10 pro but when I asked to post your model and build number to compare you conveniently never replied back?

Great video. Using the iphone X with HDR ON instead of in auto, corrects 90% of blown out issues from my experience with pictures with any lights or on bright days. I don't take low light without flash if at all so low light isn't an issues for me personally, but i love the 4k 60 fps video on iphone X. Considering the big hype with the P20 pro and Samsung S9 camera's im pretty dissapointed . Apples and google 6 month plus old camera tech is just as good and simple enough for even my non tech experienced parents to master quickly and easily. You dont need a pro mode on an apple or google device. Their auto modes do what you need in my opinion.

you can try procam/ 645 pro for iphone x when taking night photos~~~ and then check how it performs in the night?
