Hua Hin, Thailand - Where Are The Tourists?

I had spent 10 days in Pattaya, a city that I was not expecting to enjoy but which surprised me. After chilling in Bangkok for a few weeks, I took a 3 hour train to the city of Hua Hin.
Hua Hin is located on the opposite side of the Gulf of Thailand to Pattaya. It is quieter but has some of the same attractions that Pattaya has to offer. It is a popular place with expats.
In this vlog, I explore the city, the monkey temple and the daily night market. Whereas Pattaya's bars had been busy, Hua Hin seemed dead by comparison.
Join me as I explore the coastal city of Hua Hin.

I love the pace, size, and lonely beach of Hua Hin. Quiet expats, huge night market, and 90% chance I'll move there when my lease expires in Jomtien next December. Great city for a non- bar person

Hua Hin was heaving a little while ago. The busiest it's been for years. It's always pretty quiet where you are walking during the day. There is far more to HH than that central area.

Hua Hin has received so much press about being the perfect home for expat retirees. If I wanted to be surrounded by other broke old fogies, I could move to Florida.

I went there last month, cool beach getaway if you don't wanna go too far away from Bangkok, but I'd recommend going to Koh Samet off the coast of Rayong for an even nicer experience. Go even further east and you get to (in my opinion) the best islands in Thailand with natural beauty without the "bad" side of Thai tourism

I prefer Cha Am myself, it’s more like Jomtien where the road runs right along the beach, much friendlier Thai people and cheaper restaurants, there’s just one street Bus Stop that has a little nightlife!

hated the place. rocks in the water at the beach. tons of broken glass in the sand that we picked up. Dirty streets with tons of litter. got ripped off at a restaurant. Glad to be back in Chiang Mai

All you gotta do is walk down a little ways where the kite surfers are and there's no more rocks. I was there for two weeks and loved it. Why would you go back to chiang Mai? You like the smoke?

Bangkokians spend the weekend on the east coast more in Pattaya,Rayong than Hua Hin because the distance is closer. Hotels and food prices in Hua Hin are more expensive than Pattaya.
