Spoiler I mean he was described as a handsome individual since he has Xie Lian's looks. The only difference is that his features (such as eyes) were described as sharp while xie lian's features are gentle looking.

Not ceased to exist but ceased to exist as god. I'm assuming they descend into mortal realm and become immortal/cultivator. In the novel there is one case where one of the god not only lost their godhood but also lost all their spiritual power and become mortal completely. Xie Lian was banished twice, he still have great spiritual power by human standard and as ex-martial god Xie Lian is strong in martial art. If you pay attention to the flashbacks so far.. you will notice that Xie Lian's divine weapon is a sword, he have excellent swordmanship... there is a reason why he no longer wield a sword.
