These movies are amazing. Not just the story but the even the premise of the very first movie. Hiccup and Toothless are these two different species who fear and hate each other. From Hiccup's point of view, killing Toothless would probably be the best thing that would ever happen to him, in his mind, because he would finally prove himself. He would be accepted. And instead he chooses to show compassion and choose Toothless's life over his own glory. He tries to undo his mistake and give this dragon a life. Not only that, but he casts off the expectations of his species entirely and learns to ride a dragon and befriend a dragon. To train a dragon. From Toothless's perspective, Hiccup tries to kill him and succeeds in permanently disabling him, keeping him from flying, which is practically a dragon's whole life. He has a bleak future of living in a small valley, trapped. He doesn't have very great chances of a long life expectancy whilst stuck and flightless. And this boy who did this to him tries to undo his mistake and help him. And slowly... He forgives him. He chooses to forgive him and chooses to love him so much that he risks his freedom and his life on multiple occasions even while these two species are still at war. Could you do the same? Could you show compassion to your enemy when the world says not to? Value them over your own goals? Face up to your mistakes against them? Try to befriend them even when your own family rejects you for it? Have the courage to tell others? Could you forgive a person who completely ruined your entire life, even if they had changed? Risk your life for theirs? Overlook their crimes in light of their new attitude? Become best friends with them? This is why this movie pulls so many heartstrings every time you remember they're each missing a piece. It reminds you of the premise this is all based upon, without which none of the events of the shows and movies would've happened.

I can agree even though Hiccup did shoot toothless down and took away part of his freedom but over time they formed a good bond and in the end hiccup re payed the favor by giving him his freedom back in the 3rd movie but definitely the first movie hit different

POV you watched this as a child and all the good memories finally can back after watching this

Httyd will always have a place in my heart. From the first, to the second, and to the third, the franchise will never die. It will live on in our hearts, Toothless and the others shall never die, they shall soar and live forever. Dragons may be a fairytale, but this movie, they are alive like us. And we should cherish those old memories. Amen 🙏

This HTTYD Tribute is probably one of the best I have seen! I mean in their time he got the timeline correct HTTYD 1, Riders of Berk, Race to the Edge, HTTYD 2, and then HTTYD 3! AWESOME JOB!!

Httyd is my childhood I’ve went through a lot lately like losing my mom and it’s so sad that it has ended but all we can do is watch it over and over and remember the memories of who we once loved and I think this video is very inspiring since it shows everything they’ve went through but still has got through it but it is truly sad it ended it made me cry a lot but what can we do? We get through it.

i went back and actually paid attention, and httyd 3 completely messed up most of the riders, especially my boi snotlout, they made him a complete jerk. They made ruff and tuff not like each other, which is just completely ignoring all of the twincentric episodes of the shows, hiccup didnt think twice about killing the deathgrippers, they dumbed him down to have him fall for grimmel's stuff...

I’m so glad I found this guy, he mixes nostalgic music with an amazing, perfect, nostalgic franchise that I just can’t get over how many videos I’ve watched because he got me stuck in a nostalgia loop. Just want to appreciate you making these videos, they really express a big part of my childhood.

I'm not crying, you are!😭 I will NEVER forget these movies. They are so beautiful and I'm literaly crying at the moment 😭
