Thankful for our assignment, if not for it I will not be able to hear or watch such a beautiful and moving speech. The way Pres. Cory stood their was full of authority and confidence and at the same time she echoes an utmost respect. I salute her, I was teary-eyed while watching this tbh. I'm gonna say "ang astig niya!" Thank you. I am now 60 years old, not politically motivated. But I am saddened at how people making comments here are full of hatred without understanding what history was like to people my age. I do not even hate Marcos even if I was directly a witness ont eh evils of Martial Law. All we have to do is love our country more, be proud of being a Filipino and vote not by relationships or partisan politics because that prevents us from rational thinking

She was the one who sacrificed a generation of Filipinos by disregarding the economic development of the country. 30 years and these dilawans never developed the Philippines. We stayed poor while our neighbors surpassed us economically!! It was because of the chaos and inadequacy that EDSA brought that made the Philippines 30yrsrs behind in development. We are only catching up now. No more dilawan!! EDSA should not be romanticized because it did not bring progress and development that it promised. No more inadequate leaders like Cory or Noynoy!! Vote leaders who are competent in developing the country, instead of just “rally, rally” and “be a pure and holy person.” None of that will feed the poor! More people die of hunger, poverty and depression compared to other forms of crime!

Honestly speaking, Americans gives their complete support to her because they know what the outcome will be. We`ve been manipulated by our intense clamore for humanity`s freedom. Kaya, Taran!!!! The trial of the century came out as mrs marcos was victorious. Marcos wanted to come back home so he will personally face trials of all the accusations.. did the stupid Cory Aquino let him come back? No because she knew she cannot win the case.

Why do people keep mocking her and saying that she’s nothing more than a housewife? Her diction is beyond impressive and knows how to effectively give a speech. She not only studied college in the USA but also learned French, Japanese, and Spanish-not an easy feat. She may not be the best president in terms of improving the country’s economy, but it can’t be denied that she was smart.

She was further away from being smart and will never be. She only fought for her own selfishness and manipulated Filipinos just like what her puppeteers did to her. Fortunately, some Filipinos had seen through her mask and her evil deeds because they aren't dumb to follow a devil, and I'm one of those people. I guess you'll never truly understand because you're blinded by those history books that the communists victors fabricated to make it look like the true heroes were the villains of the story. Wake up.

@@Rimakuu I never said she was a good person though. I could say the same thing for Ferdinand Marcos; I admit Marcos was smart as well, but that doesn’t mean I applaud his actions. The fact that they managed to manipulate so many people is a sign of their intellect, isn’t it? The Marcoses and Aquinos are two sides of the same coin, and neither of them are the hero

The victor writes history. When Marcos was in power, he had his own version of history and the same is said and done when Cory rose to power. I am sad that the Filipino people these days just accept what is in front of them and not think for themselves. Why fall prey to politics whom only serve their own agenda and greed? Why sow disunity among our Filipino brethren? We must educate each other to avoid history repeating itself. Still to this day so many corrupt officials and politicians rule over us because of vote buying and misinformed or rather stupid voters.
