My goodness, Ingrid and Frederik must have been incredible parents to have raised 3 children who grew up to be strong, happy, independent women with very happy marriages despite the fact that only one would be Queen, especially in the time of the hate-motivated “Spare.” They obviously adored each other! The daughters have been able to remain close, loving, and happy with themselves and each other despite the pressures Margrethe has had to cope with. Amazing!

King Frederick IX and Crown Prince Frederik has the same intensity of fondness towards their spouses. CP Mary has a bit of Queen Ingrid's profile. So sad they were not able to meet in life. Maybe this is why CP Frederik was so taken by Mary's presence at their first met. The memories of his beloved grandmother Queen Ingrid was so radiant in Mary's countenance.

Interesting that the songs are in Dutch. Not Danish or Swedish. Very pretty though. We used to see the Queen walking and shopping with her girls in Copenhagen, always friendly and smiling. The girls now: Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, HRH Princess Benedikte, and Her Majesty Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, who resembles her Mother in looks.

3.50 The king, Christian X was a stubborn and grumpy man and he had a somewhat curt relationship with his sons, Frederik and Knud. But he also had a softer, more sentimental side, and he absolutely loved his daughter-in-law!

Much good reason for respect - not for this silliness of official photographs + irrelevant music without any context.. But for the real influence of her personality in context with her role in Denmark at that time.

Yes you are right, but, sorry, the potographs, official and private, were not at all so silly and the music is not so irrilevant . I have been ,since I was a young girl interested in the history of nordic countries , politics, monarchies and all Royal Families and connections beetwen them . Some of the most interesting people were for me Crown Princess Margaretha of Sweden, whose existence I knew only 50 years ago when King Gustaf VI Adolf died, and Queen Ingrid of Denmark who I appreciated very much like, wife, mother and Queen. Prince Bertil of Sweden once told that Princess Ingrid (his sister) had been the most important gift from Sweden to Denmark. I still keep see this video again and again and again......just for the music and photos. Photos tell much without words, so the music , and they both are necessaries to come close to a person and to a story, to whom dont know the History very well , like me, to be interested to know much more about a woman or a man or a Country. Sorry for my poor english.

Princess Isabella is the mirror image of her great grandmother, Queen Ingrid of Denmark and her great great grandmother, Queen Margaret of Sweden. Both royals were beautiful and elegant in their own ways. 🇩🇰👑🇸🇪🎆

Princess Margeret never became a queen. She died while har father in law was still alive.

Knew Ingrid of Sweden best among her Royal Fams 1975-1979. Trusted her. Was she worthy of trust? She was the best to me among her fam. So many of them were jealous. She was acquainted with loss. She understood my losses in those years. The rest were spoiled Royals. Benedicte was insufferable. What a beast of a woman. Ingrid loved her blindly. Her own middle daughter had some kind of hole in her heart. Like a grinch. Truely.

Somehow the Vikings were able to side swipe most of the negative effects of inbreeding among the Royal Blue Vein Bloodlines through marriages way across lines & marrying in a non-related royal or commoner every 3rd generation or so. It is almost they knew & learnt the lesson of what happened during the Grand Alliance when the blue veins' blood lines got too close & thus the high incidents of mental & physical problems through in-breeding. & cousin incest.

@@cassiewalker1274 I love the Viking folks. I used to date a Norwegian girl. In her home village outside of Oslo, I was treated with the utmost hospitality and love. The women went out of their way to make me feel part of the village. When my assignment was over with the Bank of Norway, I didn't want to come back to the USA!

I don't believe Queen Margrethe could have had a better Teacher than Queen Ingrid , as she entered a very daunting task after her father's passing. Or , Princess Mary now in Queen Margaret's. So that Baton is handed down from Generation to generation beautifully. Queen Ingrid always knew how to be supportive off her husband. Notice in photo ops. Always a slight step behind King then , Frederick. Very vise lady. Now , Frenchmen, a daunting task! Are a breed all to themselves. Know, studied Art in Paris under William Stanley Hayter, Atelier 17. ( He British, scientist/ painter/ gravure artist..Brilliant). Called me , his Little trouble maker), at the Atelier. Had a mind off my own, sometimes clashed with French or the Brazilian monitor. Who did not always appreciate female talent!!! And, when in guestion off authority, complained to Hayter!! I just stood there,:" Sorry speak English, don't understand a word you're saying!!" ...Hayter would stand behind the aggrieved, and his body shaking with silent laughter! ( those were the days!). I was always saved by the Bell!! Showing Hater my art in progress, it won him over every time... He became my mentor. Which was not to some natives to their liking. But, still I would laugh, and adored the French Culture. ... lots off good stories. Laughter is the Salt off the Earth. Can see why the Royal family loved Art and Theater. My own sons had a wonderful garden, East, where they played, enacted life and the animation off child heroes, like Lord off the Rings. My oldest in his brief life , a Play Wright's,( I like Margaret painted his backdrops), in L.A., where he became a Studio Screen Writer, for 3 Major Studio's, Warner Brothers , Paramount and Sony. Queen Margaret with her talents is fortunate, to be able to use them, outside her Castle Reigh. Amazing. Now, with British / American girl...with Prince, who also wants to make a difference. Hope the British Crown sees this eventually as the gift which may set them free, into a modernism, that Denmark handled exceptionally well. For all concerned. All the very Best to everyone. 🇩🇰🇺🇸🇬🇧🙏🌠🗽📫🤔

Aunt of our king Carl XVI Gustaf. Her daughter Margharete (II) of Denmark - who has now left the throne to her eldest son, now king Frederik X of Denmark - is a cousin of our king (who is son of prince Gustav Adolf).

I am actually quite stunned. The current queen Mary of Denmark looks so much like Ingrid, King Frederick X’s beloved grandmother, no wonder Frederick fell in love with the Australian Mary. Ingrid and Mary look alike‼️

Well BRED and well FED .... and truly a life of luxury from birth till death. Babies galore as with a life of wealth shall bring. For to breed and bore, without any worry of financial setbacks in having and raising children, freedom is in the making called sexual freedom. So, wouldn't it be great to be able to procreate and keep on reproducing your offspring without any setbacks to worry about. Lucky IS as fortunate DOES .!
