What was the intention of interviewer for asking this question that is important. There are different roles in hplc like as analyst, operator, manager, administrator or IT administrator.

In simple, RT of particular peak or imp. divided by RT of principle peak. For Example. -- A imp RT is 5 min and principle peak RT is 15 min, Then 5/15=0.33 I hope you doubt is clear.
