A cigarette alone cannot make car go up in flames and not allow the passenger in the drivers seat to open the door and escape. It is sad they died.

This is why there are so many regulations regarding places as living spaces, work spaces, etc. Because decades ago, everyone used to smoke and people who smoke *love* to smoke in bed. So wherever people slept, there were fired breaking out really commonly. Now, only the underclass smokes and the dangers of smoking in a space with no smoke alarm, no fire extinguisher, no easy way to get out quickly, are pretty well known.

I think she had the best chance of survival verses a home or an apartment fire... cars don't instantly go up in flames you have a least couple of minutes to get out.

Cigarettes kill.
